We did a cycling trip from Hualien to Taitung where we spend the last 1,5 day biking along the east coast. We took the small provincial road from Hualien to Ruisui which was amazing. The hills were a bit tough but the additional scenery and absence of cars made it more then worth it. From Ruisui we hiked through the mountains to end up on the east coast and bike along there to Taitung. For us it was one of the most amazing trips ever and we would definitely recommend this! If we were to do it again we would just take 4 days instead of 3 as that would leave a little more time for sightseeing.

An amazing ride around for 1.5 hr - be careful to choose a comfortable bike as a tall European the ride can end up a bit tough. Lovely sunny ride amongst the rice fields, great way to enjoy the scenic views and ride and chat along the way. Must try this for sure.... peaceful and full of fun!
