The shrines and temples of Kyoto offer a rare link between modern life in the city and its very ancient past. The Shimogamo Shrine dates to the 6th century and seems suspended in time, its serenity and spiritual power still palpable. Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, then see the life-sized Thousand Armed Kannon statues of Sanjūsangen-dō. Enjoy traditional geisha performances, then savor a tranquil meal at a restaurant overlooking the Kamo River.

My husband and I rented electric bicycles from Kyoto Eco Trip for two days and had a great experience. The bike were in good shape and they came with a double battery so that we could keep them overnight and the bikes would stay charged. Eguchi-san was so helpful, he suggested the best bike routes and even found covered bike parking near our hotel. Kyoto Eco Trip offers a bag drop service so we were able to get off the train, rent the bikes and begin to explore Kyoto right away. Later in the evening, when we arrived at our hotel, our bags were there waiting for us. It was a great experience.

「Kyoto Aiwafuku Fushimi Inari Shop」 is opening on September 23th. It's near the famous Fushimi Inari-taisha with 1000 small red gates. It's the best place for kimono.
Great service! They made the whole process so easy and did my curly hair perfectly! My husband and I felt so special walking around Fushimi Inari!

Renting a kimono was a top priority for me when visiting Japan for the first time. I love the traditional Japanese culture and wanted to feel like a geisha for the day. I am so happy I chose Nagomi to rent a kimono! The staff made me feel welcome from the first time I stepped through the door and were very knowledgable. They really made the whole Experience, from the expertise in tying the obi to doing my hair and even offering me to wear special bridal hair ornaments that really suited the outfit! And offcourse the kimonos offered were very special, you can choose from cheaper slightly simpler but nevertheless beautiful ones for 3,000 Yen to more traditional and authentic looking long sleeve kimonos for 10,000, with the latter including hair styling. I’m not going to lie the price is quite expensive, but from the research I did, it seems all kimono rental shops have very similar if not the same prices. I went for a beautiful traditional long sleeve kimono and got stopped so many times when at Fushimi Inari to be complimented on my look by both locals and tourists alike! Every detail is thought out, from the bag to the special socks and shoes. Furthermore the kimono rental place is so close to the famous Fushimi Inari shrine, so you can get the famous red pillar photo! Overall an incredible experience and great service, if reccomend this shop if you are looking for a genuine kimono experience!
