Designed by award-winning golf architect Jim Engh, this course takes full advantage of the desert landscape, and has a U.S.G.A. rating of 71.7 and a slope rating of 135.
So great to play a hole where the length affords the opportunity to get an Eagle even though it is rated 7th hardest for women... it is such a fun but challenging hole. In fact, I hit my worse drive ever on this hole but ended up with an Eagle... it’s golf... go figure... part of why we love the game so much . This entire course is so awesome... every single hole is a new and different challenge ... a bucket list course for sure! Ladies, if you prefer a little more challenge play the par three whites, or blues or blacks... one par 3 hole ( 17) has an “extreme” black.. climb up the goat path ( I call it) and give it a rip with your driver... WOW an exhilarating and fun challenge .

Every time the 8 yr old grandkids visit, we must take them to the playground at Canyon View. There’s nothing like it in the Valley.

This is a great walk, although we had just a touch of trouble staying on the trail we were attempting. It's a loop, which is always extra fun. In fact, a lot of these trails are called Lunch Loops. There are a lot of mountain bikers. It's a vast desert landscape and along the high routes you can see beauty and geologic layers in all directions.

Say hello to Mr & Mrs idiot. We went on this hike for our 33 anniversary. Good first. Saw a beautiful wild horse and 10 big horn sheep. Great views all the way. Please follow this advice. Get the COTREX app before you go, it saved us and is free and don’t need service. Our mistake was the going down part, we did the loop and as soon as we started down Hoodoo we knew we were in trouble. We were heading to coal canyon trail but the very steep downhill got us. When you hit Coal canyon trail BLM 300 it is sand so walking was very hard after the downhill. We ended up calling 911 for a ride out for our safety. Just be prepared with water and watch your miles. I calculated 13 miles in 6 hours. We ended up 18 miles as per fit bit in 10 hours. Not bad for 62 ish hikers.
