Vermeer’s birthplace and a true gem, Delft sits between The Hague and Rotterdam in the country’s southwest. The city’s name comes from the Dutch word for digging, fitting since canals are a highlight here. Others include the 13th-century Old Church, the 15th-century New Church and the Prinsenhof, once home to William of Orange and now a museum. Delft has long been a center for fine ceramics, and traditional hand painting methods can still be witnessed at Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles.

Livery stable “De Delftse Hout” rides multiple horse-drawn carriages through the beautiful city center of Delft. We offer sightseeing trips through the historical city center, either starting from the coach parking or the marketplace right in the city center. It’s a great opportunity for those tourists who haven’t got a lot of time to see all the highlights in the ancient city center.

My name is Harold, 48 years old, born and raised in Delft. I would like to show you the most beautiful places in my beautiful city while walking or cycling. I've been an amateur photographer for at least 30 years. I also love to travel the world. My photos have also been published in magazines and books.
Winter, spring, summer or fall. Delft surprises you all year round! My city walks are informative, sometimes practical. But always relaxed and welcoming. We stroll through the streets, along the canals and royal squares. Wondering why the tower of the Old Church is so lopsided? Want to know why the Delft pottery is blue? And which royal highnesses are in the Royal vault? I will tell you!
I have been living in Delft since I was born. So it is no surprise that I know the city quite well.
