Finding Hector was a bit of a chore as we kept missing each other, but in the end it was all very well worth it. As it ended up, it was just our family ( 4 of us), Hector and the Captain. It was my 2 year old son's first boat ride and he loved it. Hector provided commentary in both English and Spanish for my wife and kids. We dove and snorkeled 2 sites, El Violin and El Entrego. Both were great sites with lots of fish, eels and coral and even got to see a couple of Hawksbill Turtles! Our first dive included a mid sized cave near the cliffs, which was pretty cool! Hector is super knowledgeable about the whole area under the sea and above it and provide some great anecdotes on the past and present of the Huatulco Bays. Can't wait to go back and dive w/Hector again!

We spent the entire day here. It is a lot of walking and going up the mountain. Each viewing stop is more breathtaking. We went in November and it had been raining, the color wasn’t there but the force and amount of water made up for the lack of nice color in the water. Right now it is considered low season so the park is all yours! Once you reach the main mirador and the last zip-line tower keep going there are more miradors that not many people go to. It is hard exercise but definitely worth it! The steps are uneven so wear hiking shoes, take sun block, and mosquito repellent. There is one restaurant a few snack stands and in the park there is also bbq pits. Note the drive is not difficult but there are alot of stops/bumps on the road. There are 2 entrances to this park owned by different companies. I recommend the “Entrada Principal” which has the better miradors. This is the one we went into and from the looks of it, it was the right choice.

Six of us did the dune buggy day trip. I had to convince the others that this would be fun. It turned out to be the best day for all of us. Gome and his family were excellent hosts. The meal during the trip was the best we had all week. Not your typical excursion meal and very unexpected. Remember your sunscreen and sunglasses but hang on to your hat! There is no shade in the buggies but it is cool in the open air. Note that the buggies are standard transmission but easy to drive.
