Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

We hiked Dobongsan when visiting Bukhansan National Park in Seoul. We loved it! There were lots of locals out hiking in all the latest hiking gear. Hiking is a big deal in Korea, so this is a great way to get among it. We chose Dobongsan because a 4 hour walk was about the right distance for us, and we could get the metro to the trail without having to catch a bus. It took us 2hours 15mins to make it most of the way to the top, then we turned around & our walk was 4 hours total. The track gets steadily, constantly steeper as you get closer to the top. It was already very steep when we turned around!

The mountain in southern Seoul. Good to hike or walk in the forest. - The most popular course starts from the main entrance of Seoul University. Accessible by Bus #501 from Seoul Station. Approx. 45 min if there's no heavy traffic. - It's a long easy walk from the entrance. Also good to visit for children and seniors. - There's a nice valley which is rare in Seoul. Visitors can get into the water here.
