Fringe Experiences

I have been frequenting the lesser known bars and restaurants of Cape town for many years. I love to socialise and meet people and would love to show visitors the interesting places away from the usual tourist areas. I will show the you some of the inner city's best kept secrets in a big night out. And if you can't remember much of the later stages, there will be photos to refresh your memory!

Alchemy Bar

At Alchemy, we celebrate craft booze. We are inspired by tradition and moved by innovation. We proudly stock many craft drinks produced in South Africa, with a strong focus on gin, of course. You don’t need to be a 'gintellectual' to enjoy this complex spirit - you can try one of our house combos, gin-based cocktails, tasting boards, or check out the gin selection at the bar and speak to our team for suggestions and inspiration.

We started the night off with a warm and friendly introduction to a whirlwind of Gin’s by a highly experienced Paolo. His attention to detail made this an awesome experience. The prawn bowl is honestly the best seafood I have had in Durban. The atmosphere of the restaurant just made the night incredible. I will come back here any and every time.

In the middle of December you need to stop at places that have excellent aircons. And Bezalel surely has. The wine tasting was great - we learnt a lot about the wines of the Northern Cape. And lunch was to die for. Try their special house burgers, you won't regret it!

My wife found these reasonable priced tickets for a pre Valentine celebration play. It was a very casual evening. It was not well attended but we really had a good time. Will recommend for a budget evening of good value entertainment
