This jazz bar opened in 1997.
Way back when Jazz and Blues were evolving, Kansas City was one of THE great jazz cities of this evolving genre. Blues, jazz and barbecue kind of go together in this Kansas City historic district at 18th and Vine. The Blue Room is kind of a Twofer. The Blue Room sits cozily under the American Jazz Museum and you can get to the Jazz Museum from an unassuming door in the back of the Club. The Museum side of the door says something like 'Jazz'. I took my 15-year-old nephew, who plays a bass trombone in a high school marching band, to the Blue Room because he's old enough to recognize styles and I wanted blues and jazz represented in his musical education. He was the only young one there but the crowd's age was a pretty good mix. It was a Friday and we nabbed the last two available seats in this intimate house. A local blues artist (and KC has some great ones) entertained an appreciative Happy Hour audience with her 4-piece backup band from 5:30 to 7:30. The drinks are pretty cheap and the house wines are nothing to write home about but really - when smooth blues and Jazz are being offered who cares about the drinks? Plenty of hard liquor choices if you are picky. The drive down 18th is a little industrial but the two- or three-block stretch around 18th and Vine has plenty of restaurants and other clubs that offer music to make it a night. As a bonus, if you get there early enough, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is adjacent to the Jazz Museum. These two museums highlight the incredible Black American music and sports contributions not only to Kansas City but to the world. The Blue Room door is right on the corner of 18th and Vine and if you look catty-corner across the street you will see a free parking lot. There is street parking but you have to get there plenty early. I highly recommend the Blue Room for not only the quality musical talent, both national and local, in this intimate venue but also for the great people watching (jazz clubs are so much fun). And please, remember to dress up a little. Show your respect for this wonderful historic space and this fine music.

St. Louis BarCycle offers tours on a 14-passenger pedal pub. This open air “party bike” travels around the Soulard district and stops at bars whenever a thirst needs quenching. It is the perfect vehicle for bar crawls, bachelor/bachelorette parties, birthday parties, company outings, cardinal/rams/blues games, brewery tours, charity events, and so much more.

While on vacation my wife and I were looking for something to entertain our entire family and after seeing ads and reviews we decided to go to Rick Thomas's show at the Andy Williams theater. We were able to get tickets on groupon and saved quite a bit for our family of five. The theater is doing what they can to insure social distancing leaving room between parties in rows and skipping rows. The show kept our whole family's attention from start to finish and we have a 16 year old daughter and a 10 year old daughter and son (he is autistic). Rick and his assistant along with the dancers were very entertaining and I would recommend this show to anyone !!!

Springfield's premier stand up comedy venue. Blue Room Comedy Club has the best laughs in downtown Springfield. Located downtown right inside Billiards of Springfield, known for the best burgers, the best pool hall, and now the Blue Room Comedy Club. Come on out for a fun night of stand-up comedy and great drink specials. Every Friday and Saturday night national touring comedians come to our stage, filling the room with laughter. Every Thursday we have amateur night for anyone to have the opportunity to pursue the art of comedy.
Great place for national touring comedians along with some great local talent. Decent food available while you watch the show. Great staff.

Great small batch distillery in Columbia. Their products include whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, and gin. We had a long educational, and very enjoyable talk with one of the founding partners/owners during which he explained the processes they use and provided samples for tasting. An extremely enjoyable experience and excellent product. Looking forward to going back.

My husband and I attended the after dark show the day after Christmas. We were super skeptical but read some good reviews and wanted to check it out! We recently moved to the area from St. Louis so finding something later and more adult oriented in Branson was amazing (Oh and the added booze for sale is another bonus) And holy crap was this show good!!!!! Austin is absolutely fantastic and his quickness is the best part of the show. Someone that can quickly react to his surroundings and crack jokes about it and at times crack himself up is the best type of comedian! His stage hand was also fabulous as well!!! We loved the show and have been telling everyone when they come visit us we will have to take them!!! We plan on seeing this show multiple times because I’m sure it will be ever changing and always entertaining!!!!

This old row house looking building on the corner of a busy street, surrounded by stadiums, pubs, and office buildings is home to live music and wonderful food. Sitting close but far enough away from the 5'-tall speakers, we had an excellent view of the 20-year veteran singer Kim Massey. I hadn't heard of her before last night, but I know her now and I'm her newest fan. This woman, and her fantastically talented (play it by ear) band, played non-stop for three hours! She sang blues, jazz, rock & roll, and even a country song. This great-grandma sings live three nights a week to audiences who know her and love her. She doesn't appear to show signs of slowing down: the audience love she heard most likely energized her to keep singing. I love the extraordinary display of musical talent, and luckily there are places like this to experience it.
