The Yucatan capital has both colonial and Mayan treasures to discover. Nearby ruins at Uxmal give some insight into the lives of the predecessors of the conquistadores, who arrived in 1542. Mayan culture is also still evident in Merida's daily life and in the many colorful festivals celebrated here.

Tapanco is sure to become a point of indispensable reference, distinguishable from all other options for theater in Merida, due to it being centrally located, comfortable, and a place where one can appreciate theatrical experiments conducted by actors and actresses that young people can enjoy, as well; it is a place that presents the same comedy, drama and social content as erotic theater.
