Maryland is known as “America in Miniature” because of its great variations in topography and culture. This makes it a perfect east coat travel destination for those who would like to experience a little bit of everything. From amusement parks, to beaches, to mountains and historical sites, there is plenty to see and do. Each region of Maryland provides its own unique and fun activities to do. If you're headed for some fun in the sun in Ocean City on its eastern coast, be sure not to miss the Ocean City Beach, the Boardwalk, or Trimper's Rides and Amusement Park for an all-ages fun experience. Central Maryland is home to a Six Flags theme park, the Annapolis Golf Club, and countless hubs of art and culture such as the African Art Museum and Annapolis Opera, Inc. Heading to western Maryland? It is perfect for lovers of nature and the outdoors, with the Washington Monument State Park, Wisp Resort ski slopes, and the spectacular Muddy Creek Falls.

Spencer Horsman is a GIFTED magician/escape artist/comedian and puts on a GREAT show in this 1920's style theater. From the beginning to the end, you will laugh, be spell-bound, hold your breath, and be amazed! The price is reasonable ($20/$30). Spencer waits the bar, puts on the show and talks to the guests after. Go! Before he gets famous and doesn't do this anymore!

Every now and again, you discover a place that sets the standard (can't say sets the "bar" in this case - because that's what it is!). Downstairs, tucked under the Admiral Fell Inn at Fells Point is the "Secret Bar." Small; quaint; non-descript. An eclectic music mix always playing. Often, you can smell fresh mint - because Steve the Bartender grows his own! He is, far and away, the best bartender I've ever encountered. A true artist. He creates new and makes the standards unlike anyone out there. And if you happen to like the proverbial Moscow Mule - part of the reason it will be the best you ever had, is that he brews his own ginger beer! And if you need something dangerously refreshing - try the punch! Whatever the cocktail - this guy sets the standard. A local, and upstanding member and contributor to the local community - Steve can tell you amazing things about the history of the area. He's even found some peach trees in the downtown area, a unique variety that's been there since colonial times! Of course he's found a way to build them into one of his unique cocktails. This place is one of a kind. If you're in the area, make it a point of finding this secret place (not so secret to the locals!). Say hello to Steve and prepare to have the best version of whatever it is that you order.

Do you love loud music and a great crowd? This is the bar for you! Easily my favorite bar in Baltimore! It's such a fun place to be - everywhere you look there's something to look at. It's a crowded spot, so if you don't enjoy standing or shoving your way to the bar for drinks, this might not be a spot for you. Can't wait to go back!

This Irish pub is quaintly decorated, cozy on a cold day, and offers the usual bangers and mash, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie, but also rounds the menu out with sandwiches, crab dip, burritos and burgers. The service is fast and friendly, and it's fun making your way back to the bathroom and peeking out the windows at the defunct courtyard outside.

Rams Head On Stage is Annapolis, MD's top entertainment venue! Located at 33 West Street, Rams Head hosts a variety of artists and performers -- from comedy shows to national musicians' concerts.
This is my favorite overall venue. It has a homey, warm, friendly feeling. And it's on one of the coolest streets in Annapolis. They have a huge beer selection, and everything I've eaten there has been tasty. And then there's the Live room where you can see cool concerts in a living room environment. We've had dinner there for John Lodge of the Moody Blues there, a Led Zeppelin cover band called Zoso, the Hubcaps, and more. New Year's eve will find us there, watching Deanna Bogart. You can't compare this venue to a concert hall. It has to be experienced to understand what I mean. If I live next door or within walking distance of the Ram's Head, I would eat there almost every night, and try every beer in the pub section. I would end up in rehab, and also weight-watchers, for sure. We go there several times per month, so the "When did you Travel" thing below is meaningless. Again, I have many neat pictures but no way to include them here.
