Kilkenny is over 400 years old, but it sure doesn’t show its age. Yes, it's an awe-inspiring throng of medieval cathedrals, castles, abbeys and other massive stone buildings, but Kilkenny loves to party. An endless stream of arts festivals celebrating theater, comedy, bluegrass and dance is constantly pumping the city with new life, toe-tapping energy and international flavor.

Fantastic food in a gorgeous pub. The staff were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful. Our hostess was friendly and fun. A real people person. Bar staff were lovely too. All three ladies made our stay a welcome one. Gorgeous flavour in the hot beef sandwich. We will definitely be back. Pint of Smithwicks went down a treat too. Just class full stop. Next time we come and visit KIlkenny we will definitely come back.

I Went to Malzards Pub with Trafalgar as part of group outing. Fred and his family were absolutely amazing and so welcoming and it was a night full of laughs and fun! Best pub, with great people and amazing live music by the local talent. Fred taught us the basics of hurling and even let us get behind the bar. This is a wonderful family run Pub that is upto the 5th generation of Fred’s family. Its off the beaten path if you want to get away from the busy main cities and an absolute must if you are in Ireland!! It will be a night that will always be remembered!

A traditional Irish pub, grocery & hardware offering a cosy chat by the fire along with possibly the best pint of Guinness in the south east!

Really enjoyed our pints we had here. Spent some time with owner, think his name was Liam, great guy. Really cares about keeping the old style pub atmosphere alive. It’s also the oldest pub in Kilkenny I believe which is cool.

My husband and I took a day trip from Dublin that included a 2 1/2 h visit to Kilkenny. The absolute best thing about the trip is that we wandered into the Hole in the Wall Pub! You will see their sign at the street that tells you there is no wi-fi, advertises their Irish Coffee and directs you down the alley to the pub. Patrick the bar tender was so friendly and knowledgeable and his Irish coffee, topped with a heart, was so good, it makes me want to return to Ireland. This place fulfills the desire to interact with the bar tender and the "regulars" and gives the type of experience that you will treasure when you return home.
