Cigars, Pipes and a real community feel in the heart of downtown Traverse City. The only Cigar Bar in northern Michigan is now open, now featuring outdoor seating!
First time visiting a cigar bar. Nolan’s is a great place if you’ve never been to a cigar bar. They have a really nice humidor with a fantastic selection of cigars at reasonable prices. We were in Traverse City visiting our daughter. Mt wife and daughter went shopping downtown and I thought I’d give Nolan’s a try. There’s a nice little bar in a back room, tables, a few couches and a bar stool area at the front of the bar. Great place to sit and watch your favorite team while enjoying a fine cigar and your favorite libations. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Brewery Terra Firma is a brewery and farm producing culinary-inspired brews in a responsible, sustainable way. Visit our tasting room to sample our creative, balanced beers that we produce using whole ingredients, not flavorings or extracts. The brewery is situated on a small farm minutes from downtown Traverse City where we produce some of the ingredients used in our beers.
I love this brewery for their unique beers. In the past i have had a beet beet. This time i had a Honey Basil beer it was very good. The have their own bees on the property. The staff is always friendly.

One of the unusual things about the cocktail bars in Traverse City is that they readily refer their guests to other, similar establishments. I am not quite sure how this arrangement benefits the referring establishment, but it is a boon to their guests, and is the only reason we found out about the 123 Speakeasy. We set out to find the 123 Speakeasy the day after it was recommended to us. We had the address in hand, and thought we were in front of the correct building - the street number was right there on the door - but there was no mention of a speakeasy (when you think about it, the speakeasies of a century ago didn't advertise themselves, either). Easily confused and looking for guidance, I approached a pretty young lady who was just wrapping up a conversation with someone in front of the building entrance. In an amazing coincidence, she was the owner of 123 Speakeasy. Her name is Christine, and she is as accomplished as she is delightful. She and her husband Taylor own and operate the Speakeasy - we were in the right spot. She told us the story of their business, and invited us to see the lobby (there was no sign of an entrance to the Speakeasy) but they didn't open until 5 pm. We came back promptly at 5:05. I won't reveal the means of access, but the interior of the Speakeasy was literally like something right out of the 1920's. Christine's attention to detail, the full bar, the furnishings, the authentic fixtures, the antique decanters, the (very) low light levels, and the secluded extra rooms all combined to create an atmosphere that was like being transported back in time. This place is in a class unto itself. Christine's attention to detail even showed itself in the restrooms which, I have to say, were extraordinary. Then there was Bobby. He is the bar manager, and the creator of their unique and excellent craft cocktails, of which there are many. He was also serving us from behind the bar. He is entirely focused on enhancing the customer's experience. He is a superb host - quick wit, knowledgeable, charming, and considerate - and he makes some awesome cocktails. It was a wonderful evening. These are some great people doing great things, in a great environment. We can't wait to come back.
