Since the redevelopment of the Inner Harbor in the late 1970s, Baltimore has set the standard for urban renewal. While a good part of the city's action centers around the fun and festive Harbor area, where street entertainers, open-air concerts, fireworks and parades abound, the surrounding neighborhoods offer all sorts of interesting landmarks, unique shops and delicious restaurants. Wander around Fells Point, the oldest section of Baltimore, reminiscent of an old English village, complete with pubs and cobblestone streets. Take the kids to the aquarium and check out the imaginative creations at the American Visionary Art Museum. Or stop by the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum for an in-depth look at the Great Bambino's life. Baltimore is also renowned for its African-American heritage sites, plus festivals and cultural events that take place throughout the year. From historic places and harbor cruises to family friendly attractions and fabulous neighborhoods, Charm City is one of the top tourist destinations in the United States.

Every now and again, you discover a place that sets the standard (can't say sets the "bar" in this case - because that's what it is!). Downstairs, tucked under the Admiral Fell Inn at Fells Point is the "Secret Bar." Small; quaint; non-descript. An eclectic music mix always playing. Often, you can smell fresh mint - because Steve the Bartender grows his own! He is, far and away, the best bartender I've ever encountered. A true artist. He creates new and makes the standards unlike anyone out there. And if you happen to like the proverbial Moscow Mule - part of the reason it will be the best you ever had, is that he brews his own ginger beer! And if you need something dangerously refreshing - try the punch! Whatever the cocktail - this guy sets the standard. A local, and upstanding member and contributor to the local community - Steve can tell you amazing things about the history of the area. He's even found some peach trees in the downtown area, a unique variety that's been there since colonial times! Of course he's found a way to build them into one of his unique cocktails. This place is one of a kind. If you're in the area, make it a point of finding this secret place (not so secret to the locals!). Say hello to Steve and prepare to have the best version of whatever it is that you order.

Do you love loud music and a great crowd? This is the bar for you! Easily my favorite bar in Baltimore! It's such a fun place to be - everywhere you look there's something to look at. It's a crowded spot, so if you don't enjoy standing or shoving your way to the bar for drinks, this might not be a spot for you. Can't wait to go back!

Featuring a lively rock soundtrack & a stunningly bold design with massive projections dominating the gutted three story space. Bartenders pour craft cocktails from small batch liquors - It's the next evolution in taverns. You have to see it!

The oldest continually operated Saloon in North America dating back to the late 1700s. The only Licensed alcohol establishment in Maryland to exist before, during, and after prohibition. The Horse you Came in on Saloon has been at the heart of Baltimore's local live music scene for over five decades. Hosting over one-thousand live music performances per year, you're certain to catch some great local live acoustic tunes on during your stay. Offering a full lunch and dinner menu featuring a combination of classic pub fare, south of the border favorites, and local crab-centric items such as our Crab Pretzel, and Angus Certified Philly Crab Cheesesteak. The portions are generous, so come hungry. Local legend has it that "The Horse" was a favorite drinking spot for the talented American author and Poet, Edgar Allan Poe. The facts around Mr.Poe's death remain a mystery; however it has been suggested and believed by many that The Horse You Came In On was his last stop before his passing. Through the years many employees & patrons alike have experienced what they believe paranormal activities at the hand of Mr.Poe (some employees, going as far as resigning from their duties). The Horse is the largest on premise Jack Daniel's Bar in the state of Maryland. Per square foot, the most Jack Daniel's is consumed within our four walls than any other pub, saloon, or tavern in the WORLD. Check out our Jack Daniel's Club with over Five Hundred Members and or try one of our Home-Made Jack Daniel's Infused spirits. We welcome you to check us out, grab a cold beer, try some Maryland crab dip and enjoy live local music in our homey & Historical atmosphere. Open at 11 A.M. Daily for Lunch and Live Entertainment, saddle up & stay a while.
I stumbled upon Fells Point while in Baltimore and equally stumbled upon this bar. I wanted to try National Bohemian, Baltimore's known beer and walked in due to the live music that was playing and the decor. Very cool bar! Great music, great beer and great environment! Love!
