Barcelona feels a bit surreal – appropriate, since Salvador Dali spent time here and Spanish Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí designed several of the city’s buildings. Stepping into Gaudí’s Church of the Sacred Family is a bit like falling through the looking glass - a journey that you can continue with a visit to Park Güell. Sip sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching flamboyant street performers, then create your own moveable feast by floating from tapas bar to tapas bar.

Domino Bar specialises in cocktails, pizzas and empanadas. Located in the bohemian district of El Raval, Domino Bar is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy freshly prepared food in a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The Italian style pizzas are complimented by an empanadas and starter menu. These include traditional tapas dishes like patatas bravas, nachos, cheese and ham boards, as well as more creative plates including provolone cheese with sobrasada cured sausage and honey. The cooked to order Italian style pizzas include new creations and spins on classic dishes. Try the “beso de uva” (grape kiss) made with mozzarella, cured manchego cheese, almonds, white grapes, strawberries and chicken. Each of the pizzas have unique flavours and creative touches. The Domino Bar also has a variety of empanadas with different tastes and flavours made using fresh pastry and baked to perfection. The choices include chicken, beef, tuna and vegetarian options. The specialities are the caprese empanada stuffed with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and black olives and the chicken empanada of fried onions, zucchini, eggplant, peppers and seasoned chicken. The bar is also famous for its large and elaborate cocktail menu. There are nineteen different colourful choices like dark ‘n’ stormy, maui dog and lady pleasure, the names of these cocktails are as entertaining and interesting as the drinks themselves. The recommendations are “mamba negra” made with vodka, lemongrass, kaffir lime, mint syrup and chocolate liquor and the “freshbull” which is made with gin infused with licorice root, cassia, tamarind juice, tangerine syrup, dragons eye fruit, curaçao liquor, lemon juice and decorated with cinnamon and rosemary. Make sure you head to Domino Bar when you’re in Barcelona for some fun and fabulous creations.

Awesome bar. The venue itself is really cool, with a circus/magic theme. The drinks were well priced and tasted great. Best of all were the staff, who were very attentive and fun. They performed magic in the bar, and there are awesome features all over the place.

Absolutely delighted with this bar, the cocktails aren't cheap but they aren't expensive either. Definitely worth what you get. Service was a delight to watch and these guys know everything about everything on their back bar. If you want to be transported back in time and escape the hustle and bustle of the city make sure you stop by this place. It is just off of the Ramblas which seems like it may get hit with tourists but due to lack of signage etc outside I think it remains a locals and industry hangout. 10/10
