She also showed us some secret passages in Osaka and gave us tips where we could spend time Osaka on our next days. The only thing that I was missing was to try out some other foods that are maybe not too known too. But in overall we had a lot of fun!

I went on this tour last year and absolutely loved it! Rodney was a fantastic host and took us to places that I would never have been able to find in a million years. I am 100% going to be doing this again the next time I am in Osaka. What also added to the night was the fact that Rodney took photos throughout the night, at the end of it he even sent is a link to download them all which was ace!

Kevin was awesome. Professional, knowledgeable, and gave us the perfect experience. Easily would’ve taken us 3 days to visit the sites on our own... and we certainly would not have had the context provided from the tour. With COVID a continuing concern, having a vehicle to transport us around instead of hopping on and off a dozen+ trains and busses, was a comforting benefit. Will use this service again when other family comes out to visit Japan in the future.

9. Local Osaka Night Foodie Tour BEST Budget Play!

McDonald's Temma Station, 4-chōme-12-1 Tenjinbashi, Kita Ward, Osaka, 530-0041, Japan Pinpointed

For those looking to get a good look at local night culture and foods in Osaka on the cheap, this is absolutely the perfect tour for you. But just because it's a bargain doesn't mean we skimp on the fun! We've got local guides ready to entertain you with the stories and sights of this Tenma district, and to also bring you into two different restaurants for some great food. Though venues are subject to change, we plan on taking you to one "tachinomi", a standing dining bar where the atmosphere is lively, mingling is easy, and food and drink are exceedingly reasonable. Our second spot is also guaranteed to be very local and tasty too, and we probably will sit down too. Between the spots, we've got a nice walking tour in store for you. Get away from the madness of Dotonbori and into the real life of locals in Tenma. Sure to be a memorable night!

Inclusions: First drink of the night is on us! Choose from beer, sake (Japanese rice wine), shochu, whiskey soda hi-ball, or a non-alcoholic drink of your choice.

Exclusions: Food is a bargain where we go, and we are more than happy to help you pick out some good dishes.

10. Dotonbori to Very Local: A Small Group, All-Inclusive, Authentic Evening

Lotteria, Japan, 〒542-0071 Osaka, Chuo Ward, Dōtonbori, 1-chōme−10−1 道頓堀観光ビル Pinpoint Traveler

Get your Dotonbori fix in, but then leave it all behind as we venture into more local, then MUCH more local neighborhoods and their restaurants across not one, but two different parts of Osaka. "Tachinomiya," or standing-bar restaurants in the tapas style, tee us up a cavalcade of small plates and drinks that can only be described as splendiferous, spell checks be damned. Between these tasty stops, explore local culture at night with an entertaining native (or honestly equivalent) speaker at your side. And with groups limited to six or less, you can be assured of personal attention. This also allows us to patronize smaller, truly local restaurants, unlike the big corporate restaurants some of those other guys frequent, where it seems like everything is fried and mildly disappointing. Come join a tour that's not just about great food and drink, but about connecting you with genuine local culture and making you LOVE Osaka as much as we do. Your foodie night adventure awaits!

Inclusions: A full dinner's worth of food across three restaurants. You won't leave hungry., Three drinks total (one in each restaurant). Non-alcoholic drinks also available., Train fare for our short ride from Namba to Amagasaki.
