From October through April, Save The Bay offers seal watching and nature tours in Newport and Westerly aboard their education vessels M/V Alletta Morris and M/V Elizabeth Morris. A Newport tradition for the past 12 years, Seal Watch Tours motor through historic Newport Harbor and view seals on the rocks off of Rose Island and the Newport Bridge. Choose from a one-hour seal watch or a two-hour seal watch and lighthouse tour. Save The Bay and the Stonington Historical Society have recently teamed up for 90-minute seal watch and nature cruises, venturing down the Pawcatuck River and into Little Narragansett Bay to discover the coastal history, winter wildlife, and environmental issues in the region.

The Frances Fleet offers Deep Sea Fishing Trips Year Round and Nature/Whale Watch Excursions in July and August. Our fishing trips include half day, full day, night trips and also Long Range Tuna Trips. Our trips are geared toward the novice who brings his family for a half day fishing trip in the summer and also to the more experienced fishermen who enjoys our two and three day tuna trips in the fall. Depending on the season we fish for fluke, cod, seabass, scup, striped bass, bluefish, tautog and tuna. In July and August we also offer Nature/Whale Watch Excursions. Off the coast of Block Island is a perfect area for whales to feed during the summer months. Possible sightings include, humpbacks, finbacks and minke whales. Also dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, sunfish and many different species of bird life.

We invite you to come sail with us aboard our classic 1975 Hinckley sailboat in historic Newport, RI. The ketch, IRIE, is skippered by Captain Erica Griffin. Built by Hinckley Yachts in Southwest Harbor, Maine, she is an elegant, traditionally styled, forty-nine foot sailing vessel. A full array of amenities, a spacious center cockpit and private aft cockpit each contribute to an enjoyable sail!
