This area is amazing. Well worth a trip to visit for several days. We were on a group trip & spent 4 nights. We could have easily stayed a full week & not seen it all. Incredible scenery. Hiking is great.

Beautiful scenery, the hike was relatively easy to moderate. Recommend this hike if you are in El Chaltan for a few days. Mount Fitz Roy hike was our favorite! As others have said, the weather is unpredictable and you may start out with sunny weather and by the time you get to the Laguna Torre or other destinations it can be clouded over. We were lucky with abnormally warm weather and mostly clear good weather; however, if you can plan to spend some time at Laguna Torre or Fitz Roy since the weather changes so quickly you will likely be rewarded with clear views at some point during the day!

We decided last minute to make the trip from Buenos Aries when I saw images of these guys online. Although a bit of a hike to get down here, it was totally worth it! Spend a few hours just enjoying the beautiful weather and observing the penguins in their habitat. They aren’t afraid of people and will often walk right by you on the walking trails, so cute!

~3700 feet (~1100 meters) of net vertical ascent. ~22 km round trip.Lots of volcanic sand/ash and loose rocks on the trail. Footing is not very good in a number of places, especially near the top. Trail is poorly marked in a number of places. A very good idea to have the Maps.me gps app installed on your cellphone. The trail is noted on map.me, which was very helpful to me when I got lost (despite perfect weather), which I did, 4 or 5 times. 2 hours 20 mins for me to ascend, including 2-3 stops to empty volcanic ash from low-cut hiking sneakers. The descent took about 3 hours, mainly because I lost the trail 3-4 times. Best to wear shoes that come up above the ankles to keep sand/ash and small rocks out. This is NOT a hike to do in marginal or bad weather. You will lose the trail, almost certainly. Others have written that the water near the top is drinkable. I would not advise this. Grazing animals, and evidence thereof, is everywhere. Best to bring your own water. I brought 3 liters on a cool day (22 C max), and I ran out of water with an hour still to go to get back to the car. This peak is known for very high winds that can come up suddenly. Be prepared. Enjoy! Not to be missed if the weather cooperates. Great views, solitude, majesty. Just wear the right shoes and bring plenty of water!

We had a great tour guide with animal bones and other examples. We saw whales, sea lions, guanacos, sea elephants, mara, and sheep. We used Bottazzi tours. Since we were 5 people, we were given our own vehicle and guide. The boat ride was amazing. We saw many whales in groups since it is mating season. Unforgettable!

This place is not highly promoted by the tours in town, but definitely not to be missed. The terrain is unreal with a landscape unlike any we've seen. Our guide was amazing as she shared the history and culture of the area. Yes...there are REAL dinosaur bones and fossils you can actually pick up and hold there. The hike is not as strenuous as it would seem. Don't miss this place!

This is a fairly easy walk up to a great viewpoint above Lake Lácar. It is clearly signposted from the end of the lakeside beach in the town, and starts incongruously beside the sewage works. It is uphill, but is fairly easy to follow the well trodden path. Other pathways lead off but stick to the main track, signposted at one point to La Islita. Almost at the top, there is a kiosk run by the local community, at which a 15 peso per person charge is levied to go on through their private land to the viewpoint. They also sell refreshments. Good walking footwear is recommended, as much for the way down as going up. The views at the top are fantastic, and well worth the calorie burning trek up. The path continues from the kiosk down to the beach...but what goes down must come back up.

I wasnt too sure about booking this tour however so glad I did. The Estancia was very beautiful . Got to know a lot about the everyday routine at the farm. Also tasted some good coffee made by dunking a smokey charcoal, mulled wine and snacks before the big fiesta we had for dinner. Dinner was delicious and much more impressive then expected. Alcoholic beverages are extra however very reasonably priced. I had a fund evening and would recommend this tour for everyone.
