I went to Pilion in March 2020. We hiked a group of 205 people from Xania to Makryrachi and Portaria village. We also visited the villag eof Makrinitsa. Amazing place with great architecture. The nature around the mountain is simply amazing. Highly recommended for hikers!

This time we didn't hike (its top was covered with snow at the beginning of May), we just admired its beauty and magnificence, driving by. I remember that last time we did hike on Mount Olympus we found a place with plenty of lillies-of-the-valley, which are my favorite flowers (it was late April). I recommend this hike, which may be for all levels of hiking, from easy to medium to difficult. One can stop anytime they want and go back (so did we, we didn't reach the top, because the weather was getting worse). We even met on our way young Greek couples with little children.

Founded in 1517, this monastery houses a valuable collection of Byzantine relics.
It is a sacred place and women have to wear long skirts. So, girls be prepared or they will give you a skirt at the entrance to wear over your trousers. It is a wonderful and peaceful place to visit and the yard has an amazing view. A small museum inside is where you can learn a few things about the history of the certain monastery, how monks used to access it and other really interesting stuff as well as see some really valuable relics.

On the side of the Aegean Sea Mylopotamos Beach stands out as the most famous beach of eastern Pelion. A distinctive rock sits at the center of the beach and divides it into two sections. White sand, small pebbles, natural shade, blue-green waters... an excellent place to forget about the rest of the world... Crowded during summertime...
