Hidden gem! Interesting and beautiful. Staff does a great job organizing and conducting the cave tour. Our granddaughter was amazed seeing a real cave as well as the waterfall right down the road. It was a gorgeous fall day for exploring all the surroundings in Blanchard Springs and Mountain View.

Plan to visit on a Friday night when the local pickers meet for a jam session. You can go from one pavilion to the next and listen to different groups. There are benches around the pavilions, but take the precaution of bringing your own lawn chair.

We take our grandkids on this trail and they look for carvings in the trees on the path. It's a fairly level path, but is dirt so you have to watch the weather because it will get muddy. Great fun!!

This park is beautiful with tremendous photo opportunities. Excellent picnicking, an excellent railroad history museum, superb Visitor Center, and a national fisheries aquarium which was fascinating. There's a lot of history here and story that's interesting. Thank you Arkansas for maintaining it. T&L Bowling Green

Awesome place to visit! So many helpful and informative artists. Want to go back already. Many thanks to the printer (oh how I love books and the printed word!), the broom maker, the beeswax soap and candle maker, the textile expert and the docent at the log cabin for your time, knowledge and joy of your crafts!

In the 1800s steamboats made Jacksonport a thriving river port. During the Civil War, the town was occupied by both Confederate and Union forces because of its crucial locale. Jacksonport became county seat in 1854, and constuction of a stately, two-story brick courthouse began in 1869. The town began to decline in the 1880s when bypassed by the railroad. The county seat was moved in 1891 to nearby Newport, and Jacksonport's stores, wharves and saloons soon vanished.Today, exhibits in the park's 1872 courthouse and programs by park interpreters share the story of this historic river port. Admission to the courthouse is free. The park offers 20 Class A campsites with water and electric hookups including 50 amp service at all sites, a swimming beach on the White River, standard pavilion, picnic sites, playground, and the Tunstall Riverwalk Trail to stroll alongside the river. The park is on Ark. 69 in Jacksonport (just three miles north of Newport).

Been here a couple times. It's always been very quiet. It's a cool place to learn of some Civil War history in the Jacksonport and Arkansas area. Guided tours of the old Court house are available or you can simply borrow a key and go walk around yourself. Nice building with old artifacts from the war as well as stories of soldiers. Fun gift shop to get souvenirs and there is a trail next to the white river that's peaceful and an enjoyable activity.

This was a very quiet and small. Campground. Lots of trees and 3 short hiking trails make this a great spot for the spring and fall for pictures. Rangers were very nice and helpful. The lake was beautiful. We were told that this place is packed in the summer time. They have a little sand beach in one of the coves that is set up for swimming and kayak rentals. The only down side I was told is the bugs in summer are terrible and it gets super hot. We didn't have any bug issues in October. In fact everything was perfect.
