Walking through streams, plains and a bit of gradient..a wholesome experience...was surprised to see tiger/sloth bear posters...So this is a true jungle...also saw lots of birds nests...would come back after monsoon for bird watching....a hidden gem close to Mumbai...

The track is narrow jungle path and one can easily get lost without the help of escorts. It is a good place to do some basic trekking, as the place is scenic, and has a few small treks around and to the the waterfalls. One can also check out some of the nearby attractions like Tungareshwar, which is the highest plateau of this area and Kamandurg Peak. Tungareshwar also has a temple that one can pay obeisance at. it's a awesome place. How to get there: 1. Take a train to Naigaon Station (East) 2. Walk till the rickshaw stand in Naigaon (East) 3. Tell Rickshaw wallah to take you to Chinchoti Naka or Chinchoti Waterfalls (Charge is around 10 per person) 4. He will drop you at a junction on Bombay - Gujarat - Ahmedabad Highway. 5. Walk towards Kaman Village after crossing the bridge and follow the narrow jungle path. 6. You will reach there by walking it will take more than (2 hours),so there is no alternative way to reach apart from walk.you can use your bike as well as car but after that u have to walk around(1:30 hour).. Do's 1. Good pair of shoes , Cap and Rain Jacket, 2 litres of drinking water and snacks , some insect repellent cream , first aid kit, rope, torch. Don't 1. Water around the ponds is deep more than 6 feet so unless you can swim avoid jumping in it.

This is a good option for the residents of Mumbai and nearby. One can reach by own vehicle or by train, for which nearest station is Kelva Road, at a distance of half an hour from Virar. From railway station distance to beach is approx 8 kms. Beach is clean and worth spending time. There are small village fair type shops also, for eating and other small purchases.
