Golden Cape (Zlatni rt/Punta corrente), Kurent Bay and Montauro Cape are located around 1.5 km away from the town-center, south of the ACI Marina and Lone Bay.The coast is mostly rocky. There are a few beaches covered with small round stones, and Kurent Bay, the most visited beach in this area, covered with gravel. Kurent Cape is on the eastern side (see map). The beaches are rocky and the access to the sea is not easy. At Kurent Cape you will also find a pier where you can temporarily tie your boat and there is also a small gravel-covered bay.
We spent a whole day here and it was one of the most beautiful place I've ever seen! There are big and small beaches all around the peninsula, beautiful trees and rocks around the coast! Highly recommended!!

Hotel Monte Mulini: One of the Best! We spent 5 great nights at Hotel Monte Mulini. Rovinj was the last stop of a fun filled 3 week vacation in Croatia. (see other posts) After a day of travel we were pretty exhausted by the time we arrived. While arriving at the front entrance, the hotel looked average. But as soon as you walk in you see a beautifully decorated lobby with a HUGE expansive window view of the water. You just knew you were in a great hotel. Everything from that point out was 5 stars. Check in: staff made you feel warm and welcome and the process was very pleasant. Bonus: you are invited with a coupon/voucher to their wine cellar. Awesome! Room: We had a 'Deluxe Double Room w/a sea view'. Had a balcony overlooking the pool area and the water. A nice roomy sitting area. The best part was the bathroom. His/her sinks, jacuzzi tub, great shower and plenty of space. Pool/Beach: Didn't spend any time at the pool, and why, since the Adriatic is so beautiful. A slight negative is you had to walk a bit to ocean area and it was right next to a public area. I say area since its not a beach but steps leading into the water. But the area had plenty of lounge chairs, drinks, lockers etc. *NOTE: keep an eye out for an occasional jelly fish Restaurants: First night we were tired so we ate at the Hotel at the Amtis. The staff mentioned that this was the lesser of the two restaurants, the other being the Wine Vault. For us the Amtis was one of the better hotel restaurants we've ever been to. First the view/ambiance, incredible. The service, white glove and as good as any 5 star. Our waiter was so friendly, attentive and accommodating. Me being a vegetarian I got the pasta dish laden with truffles (see picture). OMG it was SO GOOD! He recommended a delicious red blend wine (Teran) which was a local wine and AMAZING. The food was delicious. (we never made it to the wine cellar as they really didn't have much for vegetarians). Even the room service dinner was great. Location: Perfect! far enough from the city but close enough to walk. And the walk to town is really beautiful. It's a promenade along the water. Tip: at night after a few drinks/dinner in town the walk back might be a bit too far, so simply ask the restaurant to call a taxi. Staff: They were so helpful, so friendly and so eager to please. And that includes from desk to housekeeping (which went above and beyond) room was so clean. Suggestion: go to their sister hotel 'next property' and have a drink at their bar outside, where you get an awesome view of Rovinj. They even supply blankets if it gets chilly For you runners, there is a path in the opposite direction to town that you can take along the water. It goes about 2-3 miles to the end. you can deviate to some paths along a park. If you want to run to town, go early in the AM where you see the stores setting up.

Took the ferry over, across from old town [ leaves on the half hour], spent the day painting from the island and had the best time with great views of Rovinj! Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, love this place!

The best beach nearby. There is a toilet, cabins for changing clothes, shower, a bar, beds and deck chairs
