Visit Provincetown and have a blast enjoying some of Cape Cod’s best beaches (Race Point Beach and Herring Cove Beach are favorites of TripAdvisor travelers). Plenty of cool boutiques, restaurants and art galleries give this town a fun and funky vibe. It’s an exceptionally LGBT-friendly destination as well. One tip: if it’s high season, take the ferry or a quick flight from Boston (unless you enjoy spending hours sitting in traffic).

My husband and I ran the Provincelands Trail. We took advantage of the free parking at the Visitor Center, where we started/ended our run. The views from the Visitor Center were breathtaking. The path was beautiful and not crowded; this is a must-do for active travelers visiting P-town!

Part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, Herring Cove is Provincetown's most popular beach.
Herring cove beach is a great place to relax and watch the sunset, there is a brand new parking lot with a mat to walk down to the beach.

This reserve is a primary birdwatching region on Cape Cod.
Take a quiet stroll in the autumn or any other time around the pond in Beech Forest. A well maintained trail in a quiet beautifully scenic walk. Great place to walk.

Three mile walk to the lighthouse, long but easy. Great views once you get to the very tip of the Cape. Pack a lunch and have a picnic, great spot to catch some rays and relax.

A surprising public space among the houses along Commercial street. Suzanne Sinaiko's garden has been kept as a quiet spot to visit or just to walk by and enjoy the plantings

If you love to bike, this is a great adventure on rolling hills, meandering through sand dunes and pitch pine trees. Bring a water bottle and your pedal power as some of the hills might have you walking. We have done this trail many times and it is always a fun, family event. Pack a swimsuit or picnic lunch and chose a beach. The Visitor Center and Life Saving Museum aren't open, but you can walk around them.

Walked here early one January morning during the pandemic. The place is vast, pristine, and secluded. I had it entirely to myself the whole three or so hours I was there taking photos and videos. There were maybe one or two sets of tracks of people with dogs. Lots of color, even in January. Lots of gulls, cormorants and terns. Other reviews say much, but here are a few things to keep in mind. Parking at the trailhead on Rt. 6 is limited to three spots. Folks park along 6, but I'm not sure this is allowed. You can park on the South side of 6, but if you do be VERY CAREFUL crossing! Not really a very long walk in terms of miles, but walking in sand is *very* slow. Bring what you'd bring on a hike twice as long on normal trail. As with most beach walks, low tide is better.

The new Provincetown Marina opened in 2015 with all new docks and an expanded layout to service both seasonal and transient boaters. The bathroom, laundry room and marina office have been completely renovated. The marina now has a great outdoor Captain's Lounge where boaters can enjoy fire pits and two large screen TV's. We provide realiable and fun launch service to our 85 deep water moorings. There is a gas dock on site and our friendly dockhands want to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. Please make sure you plan a least a couple of days in Provincetown as there is so much to do. Amazing restaurants, shopping, coffee shops and nightlife. There are beautiful beaches, amazing whale watching, and great fishing. The marina is a short walk to Commercial Street where there are incredible restaurants and bars, great shopping and a fun night life with live music and theater. We hope you will consider a stay at Provincetown Marina as we're sure you will love this special place.
Provincetown Marina is a perennial favorite with boaters, especially us. Completely upgraded several years ago, there are wide, concrete docks on both sides of the large Pier that houses the marina office and facilities. Dockhands are always waiting to take your lines. Also offered are moorings in a large mooring field, serviced by a complimentary launch. A dinghy dock is available. Security is excellent with secure gates that require a key fob to enter. Bike racks are provided. Available for all patrons is an outdoor social area with tables and chairs, two large screen TV's, and a gas fire pit and a beautiful fire globe. Showers and bathrooms also require key fob entry and are spotlessly clean. You can walk to town easily and enjoy the many unique shops, galleries and restaurants. Tip: bring a bike if you are able. This will get you to the Stop & Shop easily plus you can ride the scenic Provincelands Bike Trail. So much to do here and such a nice facility. We usually take a mooring so we can enjoy the peaceful setting and beautiful sunsets.
