Fruit plants, clinging plants and vines that existed were kept offering visitors more shade, making this space even more welcoming to those who visit. The International Garden Festival of Ponte de Lima is an annual event occurring from the last Friday of May and closing on October 31st.

You will find this park when you cross the old bridge and turn right. The entrance is just past the church. Hardly any tourists, which is hard to believe given it's location! It is one of the loveliest and most romantic parcs I've seen. Very green and luscious, beautifully kept. It has ponds, covered walks overgrown with grapevines and wisteria, rose gardens, ponds, grass, statues and even one of those famous old grain storage contraptions. It is open every day until 18:00. If you continue down the park toward the end, you'll find a spacious playground and a fitness area, but everything about it is lovely. Very varied, beautifully kept, lot's of variety. It's nice and cool, too, which is another plus! If you're looking for the exit: you leave through the same gate you entered (took me a while!). And if you love photography, make sure you don't miss it. Lot's of photo opps.

Barefoot park (Pe Descalco Eco Parque) offers you, in a green and natural space, a set of activities for all ages. Travel through times past and remember what it is like to walk barefoot on earth. Take the opportunity to explore the senses: vision, touch, smell, hearing and the palate. Above all, share, have fun and feel good!
