Veterans Memorial Park

I visited 30 Veteran’s Memorials in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona as part of a motorcycle ride called the Tour of Honor. Of all the Memorials I visited the Veterans’ Memorial Park in Las Cruces has the most Memorials honoring Veterans of various eras. There is a Huey from Vietnam, a WWII Bataan Death March memorial, a Korean memorial and a memorial honoring Women Veterans. I will be back in Las Cruces next March and will visit again and I recommend you do too!

Tortugas Mountain

Reviewed By KellerWags - Keller, United States

Great Hiking all around the mountain. You can hike up the road that goes to the observatory at the top or go up the many trails leading to the exact same place. Many locals make the trek up the top several times per week. There is an alter at the top of the mountain where the Tortugas Indians hold ceremonies. If you are on an easy pace - it takes about an hour up from the parking area. Great views. You can see the mountain from campus and everyone calls it "A" Mountain.

For a nice peaceful outing in the desert with an occasional sound of a distant train, this is the place. For only $14 per night you get a large RV site with water and electricity ( 20, 30 & 50 amp). The views are nice and the hikes are easy. Restrooms are clean and the rangers are friendly. It's also between two fun towns with plenty to do .... Las Cruces and Hatch, NM. Don't forget the near by vineyard.

La Llorona Park

Reviewed By MisterPenguin - Powell, United States

This is a very nice park to go for a stroll or bike ride along the river. There are also nice picnic areas and a playground. There is a restroom facility (outhouse) which didn’t appear to be too well maintained.
