I am from Labrador, but even still it is a little pricey and hard to find ones way to the Torngats. Though, you really need to come here, it's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The Torngats are a place of mystery, wonder and full of spirit. Our trip here was well worth the slog from central Canada. Though we came here for a wedding (ours!!) the Torngats have been on my visit list for longer than I've had a list. The all-Inuit Parks Canada staff are unique in Canada, and the world. Not only is the National Park a gift to Canada from the Inuit (through self government land claims) but it's truly a gift of Inuit to share with the world. Having Inuit on staff, managing the park, and visitors access to the park means a great opportunity for visitors to truly get a great education about this special place and it's history. on the what to see guide - we saw 3 to 10 polar bears a day, every day. the guides know where they are (generally) and get you to see them without being too disruptive. on our zodiac excursions (all gear is provided) we also saw whales, seals, all kinds of birds and fished for Arctic Char. We also see Icebergs all summer long. There are helicopter tours (do this!!! you're already paying a premium to get here, the extra little bit is worth it), and special trips to Hebron (where we got married!) which is a government closed / abandoned (in 1959) Inuit community. History and sights to see galore! I can't say enough, this is truly an awe inspiring place. You can visit this park via Torngat Base camp reservations or via Adventure Canada and other such cruise lines that pass by and into this park.
