Carlo Sand Blow

An easy walk; some stairs (handy tip: take a water bottle) and then rewarded with spectacular views of the amazing sandblow. Kids: Take your boogie board if you want the thrill of riding down the sand dune. Great little adventure for families for an hour or two. Beautiful to watch the sunset if you’re timing is right (check sunset times)

Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area

We booked M.V. Natone for camping on Father's Day for two nights. We arrived around 11am on Friday and the site was already quite busy - nevertheless we found a great spot a few metres away from the beach with enough to keep the kids entertained. Great swimming spot and awesome views over to Fraser Island. There are hybrid toilets which are maintained regularly by the ranger. No showers. Everybody observed the 9pm 'noise curfew'. Very relaxing - will go again (and arrive earlier in the morning).

Poona Lake

Great day hike, beautiful and just challenging enough. Take togs and good shoes. Please leave the loud music and trash talk at home for this very special rain forrest walk. Lots of wildlife and birds, and like all the rainbow beach area walks, great shifts in flora and fauna as you go.

Lake Alford Park

If the water level is good it will be great to walk around the ponds. If there hasn't been rain for quite some time it can get smelly, a good downpour can freshen them up. With seating areas, lots of shaded areas under trees, walkways that are easy to access and do, bridge ways, parks and swings for the kids its a really great place to stop and relax.

Searys Creek

A beautiful little nature spot, cool clear stream which enables you see the fish (including catfish) and the eels (which you can hand feed bread). A great little spot for a cool down dip, and tranquil, as long as there isn't too many people there.
