Travelling from Porto to the South across Serra da Estrela was a good decision. Plenty of nice views. Many attractions on the way (water reservoirs, RAMSAR protected area, charming glacier valley, ski area etc.). More on the pictures.

I went there in the morning to take some photos, beautiful place with clear and clean water. Went past later in the afternoon, and very full. No surprise as it was extremely hot. Next time I will try to go for a swim.

Poco do Inferno

It was our first trail in Manteigas. The brochure said it was a medium level difficulty. The first bits were way trickier than what I'd expected! But it was fine, and our 7-year old daughter was delighted with all the climbing involved. The trail was extremely well marked, and the views of the cascades and the waterfall, as well as the surrounding woods were simply delicious.
