I’m a big fan of this zoo, especially the penguins, sea lions, and otters. Appreciate the good food choices (not typical hamburger joints), the touch tank, and kid’s play areas. Definitely one of Fort Wayne’s top attractions.

Just having a look to see what’s around the city for green space and came across lakeside park & rose garden really nice walk not far from downtown. A really nice arrangement of different roses lots of colours even in mid September everything is out in good bloom. There’s a lake you can walk around and seating just to enjoy the fountain and the flowers. There’s a parking lot or street parking is available.

Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory

You don’t have to board a plane to visit the tropics. And if you have a AAA membership, it’s only $4 to get in. Suddenly it’s warm and you are surrounded by tropical sights and sounds: flowers everywhere, big green leaves, little green leaves, a waterfall, and tropical fruit. Then you can escape into the desert and see a saguaro cactus with arms, and many others. Such a pleasant place to visit again and again.

Have riden about 1/2 of the trails in the Greenway trail system. They are mostly scenic and very comfortable riding. For the most parts they are asphalt paved.

Fox Island County Park

Reviewed By XamatTomax - Fort Wayne, United States

I went to Fox Island today to make the most of a beautiful day. We brought our cameras and wanted to get some exercise. This place is great for families, couples, or a solo trip. Dogs are welcomed as well. Admission is only $2 for the day. Fox Island is over 600 acres with 7 miles of walking trails. In the winter, this place is great for cross country skiing. In the summer, you can take advantage of the hiking trails or visit the sand dunes. When walking the trails, you might see some wildlife. We’ve spotted deer once or twice. With the rising heat of the day, we went to the beach for a swim in the lake. While some swam, others played volleyball and grilled out. Theirs something to do here for everyone regardless of the season. I plan to continue coming back here again to enjoy this place.

Promenade Park

Reviewed By OpenToNewAdventures

Promenade Park is the newest park in an extensive list of parks in Ft. Wayne, IN. Each park has its own personality, and Promenade park brings new energy and vitality to an area that is very close to the downtown. It borders on one of the three rivers, and there are paddle boats to be rented as well as the Canal Boat replica that leaves the dock regularly. The park itself has a contemporary children's playground, many comfortable chairs that look over the river, the city, and the area where children play. There is a lovely collaboration of Ft. Wayne breweries so that 3-4 local breweries are represented in the choices which change from week to week. Small, beautiful, and a great place to people watch or share a beer with friends or play. One of the best parks ever!!!
