The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Saturday 26th October and we in the departure lounge, Changi Airport, Terminal 3 awaiting the Departure of our flight to Mumbai. While walking around, killing time, we did notice signs giving directions to Butterfly Garden, we were intrigued so went along to have a look. We entered the tropical habitat, with its humid climate, which was filled with trees, plants, greenery and flowers, through the doorway on the 3rd floor. We made our way down the 2nd floor and the exit. Along the way we saw the 6 metre high waterfall. There were a number of feeding areas where we did see some butterflies. There was not much butterfly activity going on when we visited. Did see a notice advising when the butterflies were most active, cant remember, but it was not mid afternoon. This was a total surprise and unique experience at an Airport. Thought the concept was imaginative and impressive. Something else special about Changi Airport along with the Orchid Garden & Koi Pond in Terminal 2.

Enchanting little garden in Terminal 2. Great place to check out if you have time to spare whilst waiting for your flight or during transit. Listen carefully amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport and you might hear the sounds of nature in the rainforest. Check out the more than a thousand flora and ferns in the landscaped area and relax and enjoy the koi swimming gracefully.

Take in the magnificent view of the Rain Vortex, which is set to be the world’s tallest indoor waterfall at 40 metres high. Come night fall, the Rain Vortex will transform into a spectacular Light and Sound show with special lighting effects.
A very impressive indoor waterfall located at the airport. The waterfall is surrounded by greeneries, giving visitors of an illusion of being transported to a rainforest. The stunning light shows at night - a mix of sounds and light effects makes the waterfall look very futuristic. The vortex is becoming the next icon of Singapore, thus is a very popular place for photos.

Sunflower garden is a rooftop open area near the lounge which is basically a smoking zone and has lots of bright sunflowers. It provides a nice view of the runway and aircraft parking bays from this rooftop area. It feels good for the eyes to see hundreds of bright flowers all over.

Steel in Bloom explores the interactions of humans with Nature. The garden’s 6m-high centrepiece features intricate botanical motifs modelled in steel. This structure is juxtaposed with plants that have inspired its design, creating a sense of contrast in harmony. Enhanced by bright, multi-coloured lighting, this display is perfect for photographs and selfies.

The Water Lily Garden features water lilies in a natural aquatic garden environment. Inspired by the undulating shape of the water lily leaf, the meandering tiled walkway resembles radiating ripples on water after a pebble has been tossed into a pond. The garden shelters are designed in the shape of the water lily leaf.

Taking pride of place at the topmost level of Jewel, the 14,000sqm park promises delightful experiences to create your very own Jewel moment. Stroll along creative garden trails, stroll on Nets attractions suspended over a void, glide down giant slides, navigate your way out of a hedge maze and a mirror maze or enjoy a dinner under the stars, there is always something for everyone at Canopy Park.
The latest attraction in Singapore. A comfortable indoor park with several activities within it. On its own, it's a nice leisurely walk, with lots of greenery in an aircon environment and multiple photo opportunities. There are sub-attractions within it that are ticketed separately such as the Bouncing Nets / Walking one. The bouncing one is more for the kids. I went for the walking version, and it was a little scary, perhaps because I wasn't in the right shoes. They do provide non-slip covered rubber shoes for you if you need, I should have taken up the offer. It was fun nonetheless and they've got staff up there to help you along (Arthur literally held my friend's hand and led her thru the entire thing, as well taking photos for us). Highly recommended for those making a stopover in Singapore, or have a late night flight out of Singapore. You can check in early and drop off the luggage, spend an hour or two here, have a meal before you leave.
