Who knew a rustic couple of walking trails are available so near all that Cary shopping? There walking trail options and much to look at and listen to. Give it a try.

Fred G Bond Park offers a wide variety of fun activities. The family can set up a picnic in the open fields overlooking a beautiful large lake surrounded by woods as well as hold a big family gathering in the covered cabin-like room with large long tables and rear deck with rocking chairs. You can rent kayaks or pedal boats to explore the lake. Bond Park also offers multiple trails. My favorite one is the wooded trail that goes around the lake (around 2.2 miles). Throughout the park there are multiple covered picnic areas, children playgrounds, and ball fields in wooded settings. It's a fantastic park!!!

Used this park a lot during my training for a half marathon. Convenient, clean, well traveled. Saw serious runners, walkers, moms w/babies in strollers. Friendly and close to everything.

I loved this park! It was shaded and well maintained. There was equipment for kids of all ages and abilities. It was very accessible and my toddler loved it. The downside was the parking lot was quite a walk, but since the point was to get outside and get moving, that hardly mattered.

Cary's Central Park is wonderful. You can walk along Academy Street from the Fountain and the Cary Arts Center down to City Hall and see art and restaurants along the way. The fountain has colored light on it at night and makes a beautiful place just to chill and hang out.

For many years, I lived just around the corner from the Park, so it was exciting to see it break ground and finally come to fruition. The spire is beautiful sight after sundown and the lights take over. Shortly after the dedication, I was visiting the memorial one evening and came upon a gentleman who was giving a tour of the memorial -- to include pointing out the lights under the seats and around the walls. Come to find out, he was on the design team over at SAS. From what he described, I don't believe Cary has seen all that the lighting system CAN do. I do hope and look forward to seeing the final elements of the memorial installed so the stories of all of Cary's veterans are highlighted in this space of reverence and pride.

Very nice new park in a wooded setting. Nice play ground, climbing rock and slash pad for the kids in the summer.
