Excellent destination for nature lovers - we went on a random weekday at about 5 pm amd were amazed with the bird life on show - to see flocks of egrets, painted storks, huge flocks of black ibis, rosy starlings and several kingfishers darting around the edge of the lake was AMAZING - Bangalore is great for wildlife and this is an amazing place to see it!

Took my son & nephews & neices to this National park cum safari cum Zoo. Its 16 kms from Bangalore city center. The safari ride is fantastic seeing tigers, lions just few feet away( from van windows). Nothing great about Zoo because its just a small area . They have a big car parking zone .

Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park dons many hats: a green lung in the heart of the city that also hosts a library, museums, a tennis academy, an aquarium, a toy train and many statues and pavilions. It’s probably one of the only parks to have a busy road cutting through it. In the wee hours of the morning or evenings, it’s a jogger’s paradise. Spring adds to the beauty of this park, with the lovely and colorful Tabebuia trees in full bloom.

Reviewed By _lightgodess - Bengaluru, India

Cubbon Park is known for it's lush greenery in the center of the city, but it's also very well connected with a metro station adjoining one of the entrances and ample parking available as well. Different sections of the park are suitable for different activities- you can have a picnic by the Victoria statue, play games with family and friends near the rock formations or enjoy swings and the toy train inside the main park premises. On Sundays, you can rent a cycle and take a leisurely journey or join small groups of Bangaloreans reading poetry, doing yoga, learning photography or other fun activities. For the foodies, Cubbon park has tender coconut water, fresh corn, and is walking distance to Koshys or Church Street Social, depending on the kind of breakfast you prefer. It's an ideal place to take a book to read,or to take a quick nap and enjoy the lovely Bangalore weather.

Sankey Tank

Reviewed By jannetnorthop - Bengaluru, India

Sankey tank which was constructed in 1882 to meet the fresh water supply demand, now houses shoals of fish, many ducks, swans and welcomes migratory birds. This man made tank looks like a natural lake. This place is easy to locate via google maps and is open from 6 AM to 8 AM and 4 PM to 6 PM. One can easily travel to Sankey tank via public transport. There is no entry ticket / entry fee. It is well maintained, hygienic, clean and is surrounded by old tall green trees with its branches widespread across the area. There are some small colorful shrubs, potted plants and lawn which adds to the beauty. It has a children's play area, a trail to run, jog or simply take a refreshing stroll, there are benches and gazebos to sit back, relax and enjoy the view . This is a good spot for photography lovers. Ducks swimming around in the lake flapping around or feeding upon some grains and the sight of various birds (local and migratory) is just soothing and charming. The quick flutter of morning birds, ducks quickly feeding off the ground at dawn and the attractive lights at dusk with its reflection on the lake gives the same place two different but equally beautiful views. This place is good for family, children and friends.
