Parque Nacional do Iguacu was excellent! The park was clean, staff people were helpful and easy to understand We would highly recommend coming to see the falls, especially on both sides because you're able to appreciate the scale from a full perspective.

Awesome place to visit. One of my favourite places in southern Brazil. A must see if your near Salvador. We spent 3 days in Lencois and did the Pai Inacio lookout, poco Azul, Morro do Diabo swimming hole and Rancador all without a tour guide and it was fantastic. It woukd be great to stay longer however with limited time three days still ghves you time to see main attractions. Most of the sites can be seen without a tour guide. Just download the app Maps.me and it will give u the trails. Highly recomend!

This national Park exceeded my expectations. Beautiful sand dunes with amazing lagoons. We got daily tours arranged by Pe n'areia ecoturismo, and a couple of days were with guides from Vale dos lençois. This park is very unique, jaw-dropping!

Serra da Capivara National Park

Important archeological site with cave paintings made by the prehistoric men.

Reviewed By Cassio_de_Figueiredo - Marseille, France

The Serra da Capivara National Park, and the work of almost 50 years of archaeologist Niède Guidon with the communities that live near its boundaries are marvels that I highly recommend. However, the Park positions itself basing only in narratives of the past, that is, all you will see and hear refers to “extinct” peoples only, who left us their wonderful cave paintings. In so doing, the Park excludes the current discourses of present-day Amerindian descendants who lived, until recently within its boundaries. Important: you can only visit the park if you are accompanied by a local tour-guide, which is a good thing as this prevents vandalism and provides employment to locals. However, be extra careful with those local tour-guides: make sure you know exactly what you want to see on a given day and make sure he commits to taking you to those places - I advise you to buy beforehand a booklet at the Museum in São Raimundo, as soon as you arrive, it lists all you can see in the Park - and make sure your guide commits to guiding you for the whole day (from 7:30 to 17h), as they often invent false excuses to shorten their working day, such as, “there is a Jaguar with a baby here”, “there are ferocious bees there”...

PETAR - Parque Estadual Turistico do Alto Ribeira

Created in 1958, with its 35,750 ha, it is located in the south of the state of Sao Paulo, covers part of the municipalities of Iporanga and Apiai and has territorial continuity with the EP Intervales. In addition to the value as a remnant forest area, the importance is emphasized by the association of the forest with the so-called “relief relief”, with cave systems that house unique underground landscapes, with a great morphological variety of speleothems and paleontological sites. Due to the number - more than 400, beauty and complexity of its caves, PETAR is an internationally recognized park. Due to the high level of preservation of the region, PETAR shelters species of the Atlantic Forest typical of primary forests (vegetation with high degree of preservation, almost without human intervention, with trees between 25 and 30 meters high), such as cinnamon, cedar and palm heart. -jucara. In addition to this important geological matrix, PETAR presents species of animals from large te

Very good nature option close to Sao Paulo or Curitiba. There are many different options to walk around, with many water falls, available for swimming. Also many caves are visitable, with a guide. Really enjoiable place for some peace out of a big city. Not many restaurant or bar options, if you are looking for these to go along the nature.

Unique National Park set in the Brazilian Cerrado Bioma, with bushy scrubs and grasslands, with many beautiful waterfalls, spectacular mainly during the rainy season (December - March). Enjoy the waterfalls and their pools while the red/green macaus fly over you in pairs against a fantastic blue sky.
