Visit nationally recognized wildlife bronze sculptor Geoffrey Smith's gallery in beautiful downtown Stuart. The Gallery has been a must see on Osceola Street since the 90s. After you stop in to say hello you can stroll down Colorado Ave to see, The Birds on Colorado, comprised of five life size bronzes of Smith's and turn the corner to the roundabout to see the iconic 19' tall Stuart Sailfish.
The love of nature's gifts to us and the artistry boggles the mind...and the heart. The lovely staff woman, Rusty, showed us around and introduced us to the video of the artist at work and the Montana foundry which finalizes the bronzes or the stainless steel pieces. We went to the retail gallery in downtown Stuart first and then drove to the "studio" which includes an even larger gallery south of Stuart and features the video. We have lived near Stuart for over 25 years but had not visited. This is a living, active museum of contemporary art. Don't miss it.

Thought this was the most interesting point of interest around Stuart. Such an interesting, little-known piece of history right on the ocean. The employees were knowledgeable and enthusiastic and it had a great little gift shop.

We visited the Elliott Museum when we visited Stuart in November. This is not your typical museum, they have a lot of varied exhibits and there's something for everybody. We saw the beautiful classic car exhibit, also some Christmas displays, sculptures, paintings, circus memorabilia, classic toys, baseball cards and autographed memorabilia, and early 20th century Americana. So many interesting things to see.
