Shizuoka City Tokaido Hiroshige Museum was opened in Yui Honjin Park located in the station "Yui inn" in Tõkaidõ in 1994. It is the first art museum in Japan named the name of the ukiyoe artist and Utagawa Hiroshige of the Edo period (1797-1858). The collection of this art museum contains Hiroshige's representative Tõkaidõ series "Fifty-three Stations of the Tõkaidõ" (Tõkaidõ Hoeidõ Edition) and "Fifty-three Stations of the Tõkaidõ" (Reisho Tõkaidõ) and "Fifty-three Stations of the Tõkaidõ" (Gyousho Tõkaidõ) . In addition, masterpiece of its later years "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" etc. count about 1,400 pieces centering on the noted article of a landscape print.
Good display of a full set of one of Hiroshige's finest sets of wood block prints, following the Tokaido Road from Tokyo to Kyoto. There are also opportunities to try creating prints yourself, and examples of the process used by Hiroshige.
