During a group tour of the artist's studios of Havana, we were introduced to the art of Lazaro Niebla. Using antiques shutters from local buildings, Mr. Niebla carves the likeness of aged faces he sees on the streets. Each is dimensional, some are tinted, but all are wonderful.

The Patria o Muerte sugar agribusiness museum is located in the province of Ciego de Avila 3 km from the city of Moron. The old plant has been restructured in 10 areas of interest: mount of the flags, rustic area, mechanization area, jogger area, variety garden, steam exhibition, mill area, history room. Another special point of interest is the steam trains exhibition and a 5km trip in one

We visited the museum of the Struggle Against Bandits, which is located close to Plaza Mayor. We made a guided tour in this interesting museum in an old couvent; in the exhibition, there are simply and clear displays regarding Cuba history. We climbep to the top of the tower, allowing us to have wonderful panoramic viewpoints on Trinidad and on the surroundings!

This gallery is located off the centre of the town and very close to the San Jose restaurant which by the way is probably the best eating establishment in Trinidad. This is a great gallery which contains some excellent pieces of pottery at very reasonably prices. The lady serving us was very friendly even though she didn’t speak any English. We purchased a vase and managed to get it back to the UK unbroken. A gem of a place and well worth a visit.

This is a small museum on one side of the main square, which is full of interest – in my case the visit was greatly enhanced by the appearance of a guide, Luis (his sister worked at the ticket desk), who gave me an enthusiastic and personal tour of the museum. Ask if he's around when you make your visit - there's not a lot to see, but that's what makes this museum so good. No overload, just full of interest, and perfect for a 30 minute visit.
