Art gallery and shop in the heart of Falkland's historic village and only a few steps from the entrance to Falkland Palace. Featuring a dynamic range of artists and designers from Fife and beyond. Original paintings, Giclee prints, ceramics, sculpture and jewellery. Framing service available.
Well the name doesn’t do it justice ! What a superb two bedroom cottage / bothy? superbly hosted by John and Peta. This is the perfect place to stay in Falkland - we were just two but provided you don’t mind sharing the bathroom would be fine for four. The garden you are invited to use is delightful as are the owners, helpful and to hand, very amiable but never intrusive. The breakfast is just delicious - beautifully presented and enough to feast on all day. We had THE BEST time for four nights on first foray to Scotland for a very very long time, and couldn’t have picked a better base. And of course being on the doorstep of the palace gardens (house closed atm) was icing on the cake

Come along and discover the original birthplace cottage of Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919). Find out how Andrew, born a weaver’s son in Dunfermline, emigrated to America and became the richest man in the world, and one of the most generous philanthropists of all time. The Memorial Hall adjoining the cottage tells the story of Andrew Carnegie’s lasting legacy which includes internationally renowned landmarks such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Peace Palace in The Hague, over 2,800 public libraries around the globe, Mount Wilson Observatory in California, and, of course, the Diplodocus carnegii dinosaur.
Found this hidden gem while visiting Dunfermline abbey. Very informative museum reflecting the life of Andrew Carnegie. Great staff as well! Thank you for advising my wife on buying the proper Carnegie biography - she managed to finish the whole thing during our holidays and has become an expert on steel production in the process ;-)

A social history museum in a 17th century house , dedicated to preserving the social history of the vibrant town of St Andrews. Enjoy displays of Victorian shops, Great-Granny's Wash-house and our tranquil gardens.
Nauldy has just given an excellent review so I will not repeat the accurate content. It is a brilliant museum and so quaint and chocolate box pretty from the outside that you cannot fail to be drawn in. The social history inside is great. Some things from my early childhood are there so a real nostalgia trip as well as interesting local history. I was drawn in to see the garden. Thinking it would be tiny I was amazed to find a relatively large, compartmentalised garden. Just wonderful in this urban area. Plenty of history, loved the blacksmith are and the laundry room. A modern twist has been added with a sensory garden. Do visit. Our time here was enhanced by the lovely volunteers and talking to the garden convenes, whose enthusiasm was infectious. A donation in the box would be appreciated too.
