Cutler Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center

The Jewish experience in Arizona is a unique one. Many Jews arrived in Arizona in the 19th century and played vital roles in the development of Arizona's mining industry, agriculture, and commerce which helped to settle the American West. Since then the Jewish population has become integrated into virtually every aspect of Arizona life. The AZJHS is dedicated to preserving local Jewish history, promoting awareness of our state's diverse history, and making local history accessible to all. Visitors to our newly renovated home, now called the Cutler Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center, can experience firsthand a bit of local history when they tour our 90 year old landmark historic building. Come explore our museum gallery, stay for one of our many fun, culturally rich programs, share a photograph with our archive, join our monthly book discussion group, or celebrate a special occasion in our beautiful sanctuary.

This museum has some great artifacts and memorabilia from the real Old West- including one of the signature stage coaches like the ones used by Wells Fargo in the past. It's a small museum, but well worth a visit.

Children’s Museum of Phoenix

It’s been a few years since we visited. (When my girls were younger we practically lived at this museum.) This past weekend I took my nephew (age 5), and daughters - 10, 13, and 14. The big “kids” had just as much fun playing as my nephew. I was so impressed with all the different and improved spaces. I forgot how loud it can be (lots of happy kids). I’ll continue to take out of town family for memorable experiences. My girls were among the oldest of the bunch, and it was nice for them to visit, but they probably won’t be back for another few years.

Phoenix Airport Museum

Reviewed By Timtime22

The museum is all throughout the airport! I love that you can find art everywhere from the terminals all the way to the rental car center. My favorite were all the uniquely designed terrazzo floors. They showcase Arizona artists exclusively - which is astounding the talent there is in just one state. This museum program is paid for my the airports own generated revenue which I find endearing that they care enough to “uplift” the passengers experience. So many airports are cold and boring... Sky Harbor is vibrant with art, culture, and sometimes even live music!
