This trip was by far my top experience! From the moment of pick up at the airport, our tour guide (Khalil) was extremely friendly and professional. We were in constant communication prior to the trip which eased my fears going abroad. I definitely recommend this private tour because there’s so much more you can get from the experience that you wouldn’t get on a large tour bus. I went with two of my girlfriends and had a great time. We traveled from CasaBlanca to Marrakech but each day we stayed at a different raid or hotel which was a great experience to see something new each day. Since it was a private tour, many times you can choose to stop at shops or market places or ofcourse take photos(: we also went camel back riding at the Sahara and ATV riding in Marrakech. The food is great, lovely culture, people and country. If you are looking for an adventurous, exotic, Yet relaxing- girls or couples trip? I definitely recommend this trip. I really enjoyed my experience.

Beyond the incredible views, awesome treks, and nights in the desert, our guide (Mustapha) was the star of this trip. He knows everything about exploring Morocco, and will show you countless treks in diverse landscapes. Looking through pictures of mountains, snow, deserts, and waterfalls, it is hard to believe how much I was able to see in a week. I am happy.

My experience with Toubkal Guide strongly demonstrates that it is the premier guide service for Toubkal trekking. Due to Covid, I had to reschedule my trip several times. Throughout this process Jamal patiently and kindly responded to numerous e-mails and changes in plans. My trip with Toubkal Guide went without a hitch. Jamal himself met me at the train station in Marrakech, and transported me to Imlil Lodge. The lodge met all expectations. Beautifully decorated in the Berber style, it was a treat just to experience the lodge. Food was excellent and plentiful. My guide on the trek was Ibrahim. I could not have asked for a better guide. Ibrahim did everything in his power to make my trip a safe and successful experience. If you are going to trek with Toubkal Guide soon, ask for Ibrahim. Jamal, too, assisted so kindly in all aspects of my stay. He is an outgoing person, with a warm personality. Jamal and his staff are Berber. What better way to truly experience this fascinating culture than through Berber people themselves. Having been vaccinated, and armed with a negative PCR test for Covid, I had no problems whatsoever, entering Morocco. Jamal can also refer you to an approved testing site within a short walk of the Medina for your return test. The test cost approximately $60 US, and was ready the same day it was administered. Now is a wonderful time for a visit. The trail is not crowded, the weather is warming, and the Moroccan people are so welcoming. What a memory!

I cannot fully describe my gratitude for this experience. I’m not exaggerating when I say it changed how I see myself, humanity, and our place in the cosmos. With Mohamed as my guide, I was able to deeply dwell and engage with the endless wonder of the Sahara and it’s people. It is a landscape more grandly mysterious and more deeply beautiful than I ever could have imagined. And I felt so honored to eat, laugh, and wonder alongside those who make this place so unique. The night sky in the Sahara feels tangible and near. The stars are so bright and numerous that it is as though one walks, not beneath, but among them. Every day brought new wonders. At one point during my trip, there was a dust storm—an absolutely amazing experience. The dunes seemed to come alive, rearing up and dancing in the wind. Every morning and evening we saw the sun rise and set in a stunning, slowly unfolding explosion of every color imaginable. There were many special moments and sights that I’m sure were the result of Mohamed’s skill as a guide. Even though I was traveling alone, I never felt lonely on this trip. It was as if I had always been apart of this family. I was constantly surprised by the care and attention with which they attended to my needs. The food was the best I had during my whole time in Morocco (which is saying something!), and while we ate, we had conversations where I left feeling like a changed, better person. I miss you guys so much!! Inshalla (god willing) I will come back. No matter where I go or what I do, I will always have these memories with me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the edge of the cosmos for sharing such an amazing gift as this experience with me.

Hassan is an extremely competent guide who is not only very experienced in leading treks in the Sahara Desert and Atlas Mountains but is also dedicated to conserving the environment at all times. Catering primarily for people from German-speaking countries, his command of the language is incredibly good. At the same time, he is also very funny and jokes with both locals and visitors. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him, loved the food cooked by Ismail and dancing round the camp with the dromedary leaders.

The stunning city of Marrakesh was a truly incredible and magical experience. Bursting with history, culture, mosques, markets, palaces, gardens, people and photo opportunities. We were lucky enough to amble down side alleys where we came across a curious café synagogue, lodgings and there we got talking with a wonderful person who my mother and I feel we were blessed to have met. The wonderful Salah Belbair, a knowledgeable guy with great language talent, charm and a caring personality. He spoke to us about the Berber people, history and gepgraphy of the country and the magic of the medinas, including things to see and to beware of. We drunk coffee together, befriended each other, chatted and he organised us crazy camel rides, a stunning meal with local music and entertainment in a mystical location, a marvelous trip to the shores of Essaouira seeing the tree climbing goats and the Argan oil co-ops on route and we made memories that will last a life time. We so want to go back to see more, learn more and do much more. I would definitely recommend a vist to Morocco, it is impossible not to fall in love with this wonderful place. Get in contact with Salah to help make your trip the best imaginable and enjoy all he, his connections and land have to share with you.
