It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

Lovely day out. My driver, Adhil, was great. I was keen to leave earlier than the scheduled 8am start (to beat the traffic), and to go to Sigirya first (so we weren’t walking up during the hot part of the day). This was no problem for Adhil, and he was promptly waiting outside my Guest House at 7am. His historic information about the sites also saved me the cost of hiring a guide.

What an incredible time I had with this company last year. It was my first time doing anything like this before and I was pretty skeptical to begin with. After chatting on the website I felt way more relaxed and couldn't wait for the trip to start. The whole experience when I was in Thailand was just out of this world. The hotels, activities, experiences and all the locals we met on the tour. What really stood out for me was how friendly the guides were. Matt and all the local guides were just super friendly and they really were more like your friend than a guide or leader. If I had to choose my favourite day it would have to be the day we did the boat trip on Phi Phi. We had the tunes going and the weather was just amazing, we saw reef sharks and a turtle which just blew my mind (I have never seen a turtle before lol). I loved it that much I am planning my next trip with the company as soon as all this COVID stuff is finished. Thanks for a great time and making my first travelling experience so special x

It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing food and service. Staff are extremely polite and friendly and I just want to say that, in addition to awesome food, we had a delightful waiter, “Dhanushka”. He had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. He recognized that we wanted time to visit and made certain that we had everything we needed.

Sajith has been an excellent driver and guide during our 6 days trip to Sri Lanka. He is reliable and professional. During long drives he is a delight to have conversations with. He has good knowledge of local areas and can provide helpful suggestions for restaurants and activities to suit your needs. He helped us arrange a safari tour of the Yala national park as well as a visit to a turtle conservatory. Catching glims of leopards, bears and elephants had been the highlight of the safari. I'll highly recommend contacting Sajith to anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka :).
