On entering the Cinema (as a part of our Linga Longa Tour) we enjoyed the organ music provided from the real theatre organ, before viewing some genuine old advertising slides on screen. Then memories from a Cinesound News followed by the B&W movie SAFETY LAST - a real fun memory from 1923. After this entertainment we enjoyed a genuine afternoon tea with huge lamingtons and ea/coffee. What a fabulous locally-owned attraction, operated and maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers. Not to be missed!

Cloud9 offer's the latest film releases, with some of the latest digital technology and Art-House titles that include Independent productions and foreign movies. We offer you a slice of days gone by, a time when the food was good and simple, the drinks strong and the service impeccable.
Grab a wine, a beer or order a coffee, then sit back & relax while you watch your movie. Tickets can be ordered on line.

Absolutely love the Pivotonian Cinema for it's great atmosphere, comfy seats, great icecream, coffee etc etc. I will always choose to see a movie in this intimate cinema rather than the bigger ones ie Village cinemas. There are often lesser well known movies that may only last a couple of weeks in the major cinemas that you can see here. Easy parking across Moorabool Street is also great. Would highly recommend!

I was lucky enough to accompany my daughter to the screening of a French film with English subtitles at the Star Cinema, Eaglehawk (Bendigo). The cinema is furnished with one and two seater couches, which contributes to the comfortable and intimate atmosphere. If you like, you can sip a glass of wine or beer and even tea and coffee during the screening, which you can purchase at the kiosk run by volunteers. There are even cute side tables to rest your cup or glass as well as your snacks. Adults around $17.

The Astor is one of the last single screen movie palaces left in the world, showing movies continuously since being built in 1936, and transporting you to a time when going to the movies was an event.
This place is incredible. I was brought here a month or two ago for the first time and have been back several times since, always keen to go again. The art deco styling of the place is awesome, it feels so grand and yet somehow still welcoming. This is probably due to the friendly and enthusiastic staff. On one occasion there was a build up of popcorn orders and the staff offered to bring the popcorn to us in the theatre (an extremely large theatre at that) instead of waiting at the counter. I love classic movies and its clear everyone at the Astor does too, the place is filled with old posters and nods to some of the best movies of all time. They regularly play classic and cult movies but also play new releases as well, often in 70mm film. If you want a grand cinema experience and to see a film the way it's truly intended to be seen then there's really no other place that comes close to the Astor. One of my absolute favourite places.

Featuring the World's (3rd) Largest Screen, IMAX Melbourne offers one of the most exciting and immersive cinema experiences on offer.Let the power of IMAX 3D transport you to exotic and amazing locations around the globe, under the sea and out of this world or see the latest Hollywood Blockbusters on a giant screen wrapped in 15,000 Watts of digital surround sound!
A great place to visit with lots of interesting interactives for the individual or family. The lovely exhibition gardens are next door or chill out and watch a movie on the extra-large IMAX screen.

The Mansfield Armchair cinema is a not for profit community organisation showing all blockbuster new release films in both 2D and 3D. Upgrades are available to sit in the luxurious armchair recliners or HUGE double beanbags at a small cost. The cinema is fully digital with excellent sound and picture and is run by school based apprentices from the local high school.
We watched ‘The Dry’ in the comfort of spacious recliners at the Mansfield cinema. Side note - the choc tops were delicious. Tops & cones crunchy. Popcorn was fresh too. Highly recommend.

Reminds me of when I was a kid - gorgeous cinema, comfy seats , smaller and more intimate than the commercial ones !!! Great for kids birthdays We came for a lesser known movie so our cinema was small and comfy - we loved it ! Love the idea that you can buy a wine and take it in with you !!

The Kino is in the Paris End of Collins Street, the screen menu appeals to those cinema goers who have mature tastes. We saw Six Minutes to Midnight with Judy Dench tonight, it's the best film I've seen in a long time. By the way, the Kino has a Bar, with a good range of drinks, including craft beer on tap. The Kino is very comfortable, and has accessible parking.
