The Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium with the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world. Throughout, its seating is big and soft. It has been called luxurious. It is better. It is civilized. It reminds us of what we have long stopped expecting from public buildings.
Been a few times and it's always a treat as Berkhamsted is not close to our home. Love sitting down front at a table and getting a cheese and crackers plate. Staff always friendly at box office and bar. Every time I go I wish all cinemas were like this.

So thrilled that The Odyssey are now showing National Theatre productions on a regular basis. We're really lucky that London is so convenient, however when we can sit in the luxury of the cinema so close to home, why bother going in on the train to pay such crazy prices. The seats are wonderfully comfortable, the view and sound quality is marvellous, and the drinks and snacks excellent. Kicked off with Fleabag, and saw Present Laughter a couple of days ago. So much more civilised than the local Odeon!!! Roll on Cyrano de Bergerac.

Independent cinema and theatre in restored Art Deco building from 1936, with 4 screens showing 2D and 3D films.
This cinema is smaller and more intimate than some of the larger multi screens that now dominate towns, although still showing the latest blockbusters. Easy booking, friendly staff and very comfortable seating, along with competitive pricing, make this a great night out

Campus West is home to all your entertainment needs under one roof. A refreshing and original mix of cinema, roller skating and soft play , with food and drink available all day from Humphrey's. Campus West is an independent 3-screen cinema which shows the latest blockbusters and independent films on the day of nationwide release, plus Event Cinema screenings of live theatre, opera and ballet. RollerCity is the only purpose-built roller rink in Hertfordshire which hosts skate sessions, parties and fitness classes. Soft Play City is a bright, clean and spacious soft play centre with dedicated age zones 0-8. With no time limit on play sessions, Soft Play City is a lovely venue for children’s parties. Humphrey’s is a comfortable space to relax, with an airy lounge and outdoor balcony overlooking the leafy campus. Free Zebra Discount Cards are available with offers across all venues.
Campus West is a true gem - with 3 excellent cinema screens, a fantastic soft play, large roller rink and a really lovely cafe (with very comfy seating and lovely balcony for summer months), it’s really worth a visit. I have been really impressed with how they have implemented COVID secure measures. The staff are great, always kind and welcoming and the whole venue has a lovely vibe. Highly recommend a visit either to use one of the great leisure facilities or just to sit in the cafe for a warm drink.

I confess I have only sat in the upstairs section- I think downstairs might be a tad too close for comfort for spectacle wearers but is tiered. Staff are all volunteers, cheerful, and friendly. Recently a good choice of films: Jojo rabbit; 1917; Le Mans 66; Cats. A selection of snacks and ice cream is available. Certainly good value for money. Book in advance online. Nice to have a small local facility after the demise of the previous venue.

This is a great little cinema with ticket prices much lower than the Vue or any other local venues. Easy to book on line, comfy seats, however, the facilities need a big makeover as they unfortunately let the place down. Staff very friendly and helpful at all times. My friends and I prefer to go to Borehamwood than other cinemas

Cineworld Stevenage is a 16 screen cinema located in the popular Leisure Park. The cinema benefits from a 4DX and IMAX screen. The cinema is served by a large car park and has good transport links and a variety of restaurants and bars nearby. Cineworld Stevenage also benefits from a newly opened Starbucks open Monday - Thursday 6am - 10pm, Friday 6am-11pm, Saturday 6am-11pm and Sunday 6am - 10pm.
The cinema is very good. Especially now it has a coffee shop within it and even more, that seats have been put in foyer where you can sit and wait to be let into the screening of the film. Before you had to stand all the time. Sometimes the sound is too loud in the films but think this is the same everywhere, and sometimes it is cold while watching the films
