Refer to Vancouver Island as Victoria Island and risk a chorus of eye-rolls from the otherwise-friendly locals. Yes, Victoria is the main city on the island, but there are many distinct flavors to its logging and fishing settlements. Food and wine enthusiasts flock to the Comox Valley farm region, while the more outdoorsy types get their fix along the remote, forested beaches of North Vancouver Island. Visit the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve at Clayoquot Sound and you’ll return full of cocktail-party factoids.

We loved it! While the place is no more than a motel, it is the people and the "extras" that made all the difference. Sam, David, and the girls at the front desk were so accomodating from the punctual airport pickup and dropoff to giving excellent recommendations on where to eat and what to do. The e-Bikes were a HUGE hit because we had no car, nor did need one due to the staff's willingness to give us a ride a couple of times we needed one. On an e-Bike, Victoria DT is no more than 15 minutes away at a very leisurely pace, and you can stop for a coffee at Fantastico along the way. Breakfast service in the room at $6 was a big hit to get our morning started. Rooms have been updated with new modern showers and super comfortable mattresses. Our room was spotless when we checked in. I would go back there anytime.

We always stay when going to/from North Vancouver Island and Naniamo … the staff are wonderful, the rooms spotless and dinner is exceptional in the hotel dining room. We travel with our family pet and are made to feel welcome, with a pet bed and puppy treats in the room for him.

We're a ridiculously fun & eclectic hip hotel in Victoria BC that is so completely awesome your mind will be blown! Ok, slight exaggeration, but we swear it's like nothing you've ever seen before: '67 VW shuttle, typewriter station, vinyl listening station, pool & waterslide, ping pong lounge and comic books in the bathroom ...
Fun, full of character, CLEAN and convenient. They have bikes you can borrow, free coffee in the lobby, a restaurant on site, a heated indoor pool with a slide AND free ping pong! Parking is easy and also free. This is a great place for kids. It's an older hotel but it's safe, spotless and in a great location. It's within walking distance of downtown depending on how adventurous you are. Staff is amazing, they have free souvenirs for the kids and ear plugs for the adults. I'm not even sure if I should be telling you all about this. I'd like to be able to get a room next time I'm in town!

Very nice, older - but very clean - hotel, and is well-located. In spite of being on a major road, our room was very quiet. The owners were great to deal with, over the phone as well as in-person. We appreciated having a kitchen and full-sized refrigerator for the start of our 3-week road trip on the island. The parking lot is pretty small, so it might be challenging for larger vehicles. (Note that although the location is near a ferry dock, not ALL ferries dock there. I was confused when we disembarked at Duke's Point and had a 20 minute drive to the Inn - but definitely didn't matter and it was my bad for not researching more thoroughly.)

The picture in the advertisement doesn't match the hotel. The hotel needs to be updated/renovated, especially the lobby but once in the room it was okay. We picked this hotel as it was near the ferry terminal. Would I go back - no. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and professional. Very close to the harbour so we were able to go for a nice walk along the harbour path.

Under Management: Janice and Peter will be happy to greet you! Ocean front motel. All rooms have beautiful ocean and mountain views. 16 rooms offer private balconies with this view. Free wifi and the usual standard amenities in all our rooms; kitchen suites are especially spacious.
This is a great value choice motel with fabulous views from the upper floor rooms We saw dolphins, seals and eagles from the room (take some binoculars) The motel is a bit tired, needs some modernising, but it is clean and comfortable and great value with 2 bedrooms and a well equipped kitchenette Parking is easy (ignore the reviews that say it’s difficult unless you have a massive truck) Walking distance to the pier and city shops and restaurants in about 10-15 mins Overall, a decent choice and we’d stay here again

We love the Bayshore Waterfront Inn. This is the second time we stayed; we were in a 1 bedroom suite. It is so spacious plus clean and quiet and the location overlooking the small craft harbor is great. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and there is a bbq on the balcony. The bathroom is huge and the tub is so big you can lie down in it! The added plus is that the owners Teo and George are really friendly and helpful.

All our rooms have fridges & microwaves or we have kitchenette rooms for long term stays as well as pet friendly rooms. And please enjoy our complimentary continental breakfast and seasonal outdoor heated pool while staying with us.
We stayed at the Sidney Travelodge for 4 nights. The room was very clean and quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, close to everything. We did not have to use a car in Sidney at all. Also Travelodge is located in a very safe neighborhood. Breakfast was delicious. Our kids really enjoyed fresh made waffles. We will always come back to Sidney Travelodge.
