Just trying to stay the night and have shuttle transportation to/from the airport. Apparently they charge $10 for the airport shuttle? I did not see this disclosed during booking. When does the shuttle run, apparently when they decide it runs. As a platinum member was told they would not charge for the shuttle and yep, they sure did. Disorganized operation. Some of the front desk staff have an attitude problem. I would rather sleep in the airport next time instead of dealing with this nonsense.

Positive: WiFi was excellent. Room had fully functional coffee maker, fridge, microwave. Staff was superb, both the front desk and the housecleaning staff. Bathroom spotless, with a bathtub, important for me. The place is family owned, family operated. It's not a chain motel. BART train stop is two blocks away. Negative: No food service at the motel. The near-by restaurant is good, but Mexican... not my favorite breakfast cuisine. But, with full facilities in the room, easy to buy a few things (cereal, fruit, milk, orange juice) and have breakfast in the room.

The rooms were no fuss, clean, basic and well lit. The room is OK for a one night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dog was funny and entertaining. SF is a very expensive city and an amazing hotel costs a whole lot of $$$$. This is not a fancy hotel, its a motel for a reasonable price. You get what you paid for. The bathroom was cramped.

Motel 6 Oakland - Embarcadero is located at I-880/Nimitz Freeway and within a mile of the Port of Oakland Marina. California's beaches are 4 miles away. Relax in our hot tub. Guest rooms are 100% non-smoking and Wi-Fi is available for a fee.
They charged me for an extra night, without my agreement. They still had my debit card on file, and charged me an extra $170. I find it incredibly disturbing that I paid with debit card for 2 nights, agreed on the rate, stayed there, and then as I drove away another $170 vanished from my account!

The room was fresh and clean. Daily room service. When we checked in they were friendly and easy going. Ya it’s a small operation but they do a great job. The room is tight but we weren’t expecting a suite. There was a refrigerator and microwave. They even kept a parking spot for us one night, just in case I guess. Anyway, for the price and expectation it served us very well. The location is good as well. We were doing a lot of physical labor, settling our tiny home in the hills up behind Oakland and were tired at the end of each day. The bed was fine. Sure there is no “roof top” pool and expansive bar and dance floor. But I didn’t want to pay $450 a night. Comfortable and just right. I would stay here again.

The rooms are pretty standard and cozy, but the bathrooms have been beautifully updated. Rooms may be a little small, but are always kept super clean. The beds are very comfortable, and the headboards are lined with mirrors for romantic fun. The rooms and bathroom amenities are very welcoming to weary travelers after a long day of driving. Keep in mind that these are smoking rooms. Very convenient for some, but just be aware if you do not like the smell or are travelling with children. The inside is definitely a wonderful contrast to the outdated exterior. Oakland is a pretty bad neighborhood in general from what I've seen, but this is more of a hidden gem in the rough. One night were were the last guests to arrive for the night and they asked if we would be going out again, as they lock the parking lot once all guests are in for the night. This made us feel very safe, not many places around here had free parking on the premises, so to add the extra safety of the locked gate was awesome. The staff is very friendly, and also very accommodating to our requests for extra towels and also when we needed a late check out during one stay. We feel very welcome here and have returned a few times whenever we drive through this area, we always recommend this place to friends who may be going up or down the coast.

And they come in and go through your things. We would not recommend this place especially if you are traveling with your family. I thought prostitute hotels were illegal? They should at least let you know before you book. There are many other hotels in the area. Check Yelp as well. Terrible experience.

My son had to go to MEPS before he shipped out for testing and when he did ship out. This little motel is right across the street from where they put the recuits. If you stay here you can go eat with them near by and be close to MEPS for when they get inducted in the am. Its a really good price and close to a lot of places to eat so you wont have to drive.

Overnight and found this place via web. Actually started at the other end of this mini-strip of motels and rejected that place as too scary. This one looked okay from the outside. But still, talking with the clerk thru a bullet proof window and one of those bank sliding drawers should tell you something about the neighborhood. Room itself was typical, functional. There was a mini-frig and flat-panel TV. No alarm clock. They have smoking (really?!) and non-smoking rooms. Couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work, but seeing the (visual) quality of the place, I'm not sure I'd trust their network. We were lucky. Our room and neighbors were quiet; as in the evening and in the morning, we saw what could be some, ahem, solicitations going on in the other wing of the motel. If you really need a place to stay, try the place across the street, or keep going on to San Francisco or Berkeley. This is not the type of neighborhood that you want to be out and about at night.
