Fontana dell'Elefante

Reviewed By Vicsnest - Saint Louis, United States

Having driven across Sicily from Palermo on the autostrade, I arrived in Catania and headed north towards Giarre. It was about 2:00am and I was very tired. I ended up behind a very large truck. It was dark but the back of the truck was open partially from the top. I thought I saw a tail swishing and thought it was an elephant. When I got to Codavolpe my hostess explained that the elephant is the symbol of Catania.
