A Memorial to the men of the Battle of Britain alongside a modern interpretation centre that brings to life the victory 'the Few' achieved over the Luftwaffe in 1940. A place of quiet pilgrimage coupled with a high-tech and interactive visitor centre - plus fantastic views over The Channel from our first-floor cafe. Shop and coach parking.
This memorial to the 'Few' is excellent with a touch of sadness at their loss. A central figure of an airman looking out over the English Channel sat on the boss of a propeller is poignent and the wall of the 'Few' moving. The new Wing building opened five years ago has excellent displays and is very informative. The grand-children were more interested in the two replica Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft stationed where the old ship was situated.

Situated at the far end of the Herne Bay promenade (you drive past it when you enter from the Thanet Way) is a fitting tribute to a genius. The statue of Banes Wallis stands staring out to see as if he is watching the tests of his famous bouncing bomb. These tests were carried out in the waters off Reculver.

These stones represent the lost lives on which we walk today. Stepping across the cobbles, located where thousands of soldiers actually passed to their doom Poignant and powerful.

This place is located in the heart of Folkestone... this tower / clock is the only remaining piece of the church located at the remembrance garden .... worth it to walk around and spend some time at the garden

Having discovered the circulation of the blood, William Harvey had this statue erected in his honour. Unfortunately, the circulation of the local seagulls' bowels, don't do it justice?
