Thanks John! Customer of 5 years of this marina. Accidents happen. Called to have my boat put in at 12pm, showed up at 1130pm with my three kids... and no boat. Hard to get to your place on LGI with no boat. Talked with security not much they could do other than reassure me that the boat wasn't stolen, rather probably never put in the water. Was told by staff that I was going to have to wait for the am to have boat put in. Only one problem, live two hours away! After talking with the kids... we decided we would just sleep in the car until the am. No problem. Within the hour I got a tap on the car window... "John is coming" the security said. Ok, don't know who John is but ok sounds good. John showed up, confirmed my boat was not put in the water... ABSOLUTELY unacceptable was his response. Within minutes, now 12am shows up with rental boat to get us (3kids, 2 dogs, and lots of junk) to LGI for the night. Awesome! To make things right he was back to pick me up at 8am with my boat waiting for me at the marina. John! Thank you. I get it mistakes happens but wow! this place makes it right when something goes wrong.

We stopped here after lunch at the Old Salty Dog. Very few visitors at about 1 pm despite this being high tourist season. The tide was out as you can see from my photos. Great views of downtown Sarasota and the Ringling bridge. They also have a small playground for up to 12 year olds.

With the lovely Westin resort and it's top notch restaurant (Marker 92) and fun outdoor bar (Nauti Mermaid) offering great food, lovely views of the Caloosatchee River and the marina, it can transport you to another world. Additionally, along with the shops, there are other good restaurants as well, such as Gather, a funky, noisy fun place that holds wine tasting parties, and Pinchers Crab Shack, renown for its seafood. This is a great place to spend an afternoon strolling around, perusing the marina and shops, or party into the evening, with live entertainment at the Nauti Mermaid.
