Duncansby Head

Reviewed By StuartP73 - Westhoughton, United Kingdom

The turn for Duncansby Head is just a few hundred metres up the road from John O'Groats in the direction of Wick. After a couple of miles you arrive at a car park (free)near a lighthouse. A short 10-15 minute walk across fields will bring you to the most amazing view of Duncansby stacks. Well worth a visit just for the stacks however we also got to see seals and some great nesting birds on the cliffs.

Ratagan to Glenelg

Reviewed By sirl0inlr - Glasgow, United Kingdom

Heading to Glenelg we decided to take a diversion along a side road off the single track road. This led along Loch Duich to Ratagan and Letterfearn. The views of the hills and loch were out of this world. Well worth the single track road, which made for quite a challenging drive with hardly any other traffic..

An Lochan Uaine (Green Loch)

What a lovely walk through a woodland trail from the Glenmore visitor centre along the Revoan Pass the the Green Loch. We met some local people who told us that the water colour is because the fairies wash their socks in the water in the evening. Magical place.

Loch Ness View Point

Fantastic view on a beautiful day, we were so lucky. There is also a small stone beach that you can go on to and dip your feet in the loch which was lovely and helped calm the sting of midgie bites! Lol

Can't believe this was the first time I've been here in all the years of coming through Greenock or visiting Greenock. The view from this vantage point is Incredible. We had the best day weather wise but it would be amazing in any weather.
