Jan and I walked through the estuary and onto the beach. We kept walking along the rugged surf beach to the mouth of the Snowy river which was about 2.5kms. Memorable experience.

So I was heading home from a drive and saw a signpost saying there was a lookout and I turned into a track... The signpost indicated it would take me 2 kilometres to get to the lookout. The road is not grade 1...but it was comfortable to drive on. I arrived at the end of the 2k's to find a generous area to park. Just beyond the barriers there was a picnic table and it was dedicated to a fireman-"Crackers" who passed away during active service in 2013. I was a tad surprised that the picnic table even existed or that the parking area would be that good , because the signpost off the main road was small and I nearly missed it as I was driving. I really had no idea what I would encounter following such a small and rather insignificant sign. After following the track in drizzly, rainy conditions I finally saw a monument that explained who Jim Peterson was. It turns out he was the Vice-president of the Naturalist Club who worked towards the conservation of the area. I walked on and saw the lookout and I knew I was going to struggle with it as I approached because of my fear for heights...but onwards I went. The view is stunning!! There are information boards and the lookout is well maintained. There are two lookout areas, but the furtherest one is clearly what you are aiming for. I am quite clearly stunned that the signpost marking the lookout for the road is not more pronounced, this is one of those rather amazing views that you rarely get except at special spots like this.

My first born is called Connor, so we had to stop and get a photo and make a video regaling him with facts about the hill that I completely made up off the top of my head. Now let me tell you that if you follow the road toward Swifts Creek and look to your left, you will also get to experience the majestic Connor's Creek, where we also nearly stopped to grab another photo to add credence to my prior made up list of Connor related facts.
