Bristling with beautiful lakes, splashing rivers, rugged peaks and looming castles, Vorarlberg is tucked between Switzerland and Germany. This spirited state is dotted with Bauhaus-inspired architecture, eco-friendly dwellings and tiny towns, bristling with spires. Capital Bregenz is the main draw in this alpine locale. Cobblestone streets and a lovely lakeside setting add to its charms. Renowned for its cheese and dairies, Vorarlberg is also a popular spot for skiing and other winter sports.

Our intention is to prove that both ecomomical and ecological visions do not necessarily exclude one another, but can enjoy a happy coexistence. For our understanding ecology has less to do with asceticism and curtailment in one´s comfortable way of life, but more with a distinctive consciousness towards life and a wholesome attitude towards the things we like to enjoy and relish. Our concept of a nature hotel is based on four principles: 1. Maintaining unspoilt nature around our hotel 2. Healthy living 3. Informed approach to eating 4. Programmes designed to increase vitality, fitness and health.
I spent last weekend at Chesa Valisa and my stay there was exceptional. The place is beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful and the owners are kind and approachable. We had a great time at the hotel, which is fabulous and caters for all dietary needs, but also very much enjoyed our e-bike trip through the beautiful Kleinwalsertal, which was made possible by the owners of the hotel, who made sure to direct us to the most beautiful places and made available the e-bikes. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful hotel!

Stayed in this Motel for 2 nights in a large and very clean room with 2 single beds. Bathroom was well equipped and the shower was very good. As noted by other guests breakfast is served in the cafe attached to the hotel. They bake all the bread and cakes on site but eggs, cheese, ham and others are also available along with good coffee and orange juice. Staff are very welcoming and helpful so my overall experience was very positive and will return again if in the area.

Great location in the Center of the village near lots of restaurants and a skilift. The place is away from the Main Street and nice and quiet. Comfortable clean and spacious room with a view on the mountains as promised. Excellent breakfast included served by the ever so friendly hosts

The Walliser Stube is located next to the ski lift. It is a nice, modern hotel, which is built in a combination of wood and stone keeping a traditional character of the mountain area in which it is situated. . The rooms are sufficient in size and are equipped with a double bed, which offers a good night's sleep. A long shelf is installed under TV that serves as a desk. The bathroom is new and bright. Internet was not much reliable and slow. To note the lack of a kettle for making tea and coffee usually found this in 4-star hotels. The breakfast was sufficient and dull. The food of the HP however was tasty, all freshly prepared with no precooking. The price of wine is exaggerated. The hotel has a small, beautiful wellness area with steam bath and sauna, but does not have a pool. The relaxation area seems to be small to accommodate the guests during the high season when all is in full swing. The operating hours of the wellness area is too limited in time. Parking is available behind the hotel or next to the chair lift.

The Krone Hard is rightfully protected as a historic monument. Built around 1700, it is now one of the most beautiful half-timber houses in Vorarlberg. The last renovation (2017–2018) was done with a distinct faithfulness to the details, much skilled craftsmanship and aesthetic understanding. Die Krone in Hard on Lake Constance presents itself to its guests in a new radiance. 19 residential units in a half-timber house protected as a historic monument in Hard on Lake Constance – divided into single rooms, double rooms and studios with a kitchen. We have extensively renovated this Rheinthal half-timber house, a wine inn from 1730, in its simplicity and furnished it with handicrafts from the Bregenzerwald. All of the rooms have box-spring beds with pocket spring mattresses that have cold foam padding on both sides. The cover is made of a fine mattress fabric called “Coolplus,” which is quilted with washable sheep’s wool. The headboard of the bed has the “Daisy” reading lamp, which is adjustable, built into it. It can be focussed and dimmed. The beds can be pushed apart or used as a double bed. The curtain rods are made of black oiled steel, and the eyelets are brass with a black steel surface. This is the finest Bregenzerwald craftsmanship, created and produced by Johannes and Andrea Mohr of Mohr Polster in Andelsbuch! All of the bedding (underbedding, cover and pillows) is from Hefel Textil of Schwarzach in Vorarlberg and is an Austrian quality product. The table and chair from the “Pure Mohr” series are very purist furniture of Bregenzerwald spruce fir with visible connection elements, which we believe creates a connection with the half-timbered construction.
Staying with my two pre-teen daughters and was put into this place because the youth hostel was full. The owner greeted me with the question, "Where is your husband", which he repeated when I said hat it was just the 3 of us. In the end, I ended up having to explain that there was a man but he wasn't with us right now because he couldn't get the time off work. Then he let us in. Another family of 5 turned up from the youth hostel and he actually huffed and tutted that they wanted accommodation! Beds and rooms clean enough, quite cheap, breakfast not available, but there is a good bakers down the road.

The room was nice enough and clean. We had our own bathroom and a small kitchenette. As other reviewers said, it is not quiet, because next to a busy road, but that was not really a problem. It was very strange that there was no staff at all, just a list with who was in which room. I cannot say anything about the staff since, we never saw anybody. The place is close enough to the Festspielhaus, the lake and the center. All in all it was fine for one night but I would not have liked to stay there for any lengthe of time.
