Off Australia’s South Coast you’ll find the rugged and beautiful island of
Tasmania — a unique destination where you can see Tasmanian devils, walk
in the wilderness, take in stunning eco-cruises, taste artisanal cheeses and
even explore a controversial art museum. The best way to see it? Take the
back roads, but allow plenty of time: A short drive in any direction can lead to
wineries, distilleries, marine farms, convict settlements, pristine beaches,
fields of lavender and national parks…

Moss Hotel Is a hidden retreat above the bustling Salamanca Place, tucked within the original warehouses, once home to traders, whalers, publicans, gentlemen and convicts.
Such a chic and memorable hotel with a luxurious but easy going feel. Perfect balance between modern and natural decorations. Comfortable and clean rooms. Friendly staff. Great location right outside Salamanca Markets and near fun restaurants.

Pedder Wilderness Lodge is located right in the heart of Tasmania's Southwest National Park which is part of Tasmania's World Heritage Area. Recognised as one of the world's extraordinary natural wonders by the World Heritage Commission, it is to be protected forever from human intervention. One tree, which now sits out the front of the Lodge, was cut down in the 1970's before this protection was in place. The great Huon pine, which is about the width of a car, has its rings marked all the way back to the birth of Christ. Our surrounds, from which this great Huon came, boast everything from ancient awe-inspiring landscapes with boulders from the Jurassic period, striking mountains and lush sub-alpine rainforests with monolithic trees which range from centuries to thousands of years old, all the way to the modern man-made Gordon Dam which offers one of the world's top ten adrenaline activities. With accommodation for all types of travellers, Pedder Wilderness Lodge offers a relaxing and warm environment with a focus on fine Tasmanian food, wines and produce. With sweeping views of Lake Pedder and Twelvetrees Range you could not find a more perfect place to escape, explore, relax and enjoy our hospitality.
we were really looking forward to going to lake pedder and enjoyed our stay at the lodge. the drive there is great and we can imagine the view changing all the time. we went at a very quiet time but can imagine how busy it would be in summer. we got a self contained unit and it was clean/spacious and had what we needed. the bed was comfortable and for us the floor heating was a plus. in the lodge restaurant and bar there is heaps of places to sit and just have a drink or play games. huge fireplace. we went for dinner there and the service was excellent and so was the food. but i do wish they had more info on what to do etc. you had to pay for a map. a free local map on where to explore would of been good. we got a key to the pool/gym area and the pool is suppose to be heated but it had a cover on, which we were disappointed. couldnt find the ping pong balls and bat to play. seems like the gym was the only place to use. also i did send a message and i think it was the manager through facebook and didnt end up getting back to me. if you are going to have a facebook page - reply. we told alot of people we were going there - people from tassie and at home and most people have no idea about the place. it is worth a visit.

Our 2 nights at the Lodge were our splurge for 12 days in Tasmania. We were not disappointed at all! The slow arrival down 13 kms of gravel allow your expectations to develop. The Lodge has a warm homely feel & Bec and Martha complete the "Welcome Home" feel. There is nothing else around & that's what we liked. Our package included wonderful meals shared in the dining room with other guests. The 2 lounge areas are warm & so comfy. Lots of interesting reading, music, puzzles to enjoy too. The honesty system for self-serve drinks /snacks is well stocked and includes local choices. The comfortable bedrooms are basic, no cupboards with a large perfectly clean ensuite. Just for sleeping as there is much more to do around the Lodge. We enjoyed wonderful adventures following walking tracks near the Lodge and thankfully Bec encouraged us to drive & walk further a field. Our picnic at Ibbotts Hut was magical! The world to ourselves. Nights included watching wallabies, quolls, Tassie Devils and wombats just outside the Lodge. Just amazing!! As were the stars on our 1 clear night. The staff have great knowledge of the history, wildlife and how to make your personal stay everything you hoped for. If you go to Thousand Lakes Lodge make sure you give yourself time to enjoy the unique environment by getting outside...not just relaxing in the wonderful lounges.

Quality Waterfront accommodation in Tasmania's beautiful far South. All fully self-contained, with spectacular water views, choose from cozy studios with under floor heating to luxury cottages with jacuzzi and wood fire. Driftwood is central to the Huon Valley and southern regions in Tasmania, and makes the perfect base to explore the area.
We stayed in a fully furnished Blackwood cabin. From the roofs of the houses, there's a beautiful view of the sea. In the kitchen, there were various appliances, including an espresso maker. The complimentary Wi-Fi was quite fast. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable stay that provided an ideal base for exploring Tasmania's Far South. The hosts, Alex and Nadine, are fantastic.

Country accommodation with an 1850s historic cottage and family wing. 6.5 kilometres north of Swansea
We stayed in the Belmont Wing which is attached to the homestead. We really enjoyed our short stay there. We had a walk around the farm & gardens, loved animals and surroundings of the farm. The hosts were so sweet. And the location and place it self was nicely decorated and spotless ?

Room was great, service was good but could have been better. Food was very disappointing made me and my partner both sick all night.. :( not good value for money either wouldnt recommended a meal there!! Would have preferred to go to the pub in Orford! Heard there food is great from Friends that have also had a bad experience at the east coaster.

we stayed here with two other couples in May 2022 for two nights in order to access Cradle Mountain. The cabins are large and comfortable, certainly not five star - but you get what you pay for. An easy half hour drive to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Food at the Inn was good, although the service was at times not up to scratch. It seemed that every time we ordered something, someone missed out. We ordered six coffees, only five came out. We ordered six breakfasts, only five made it to the table. We ordered six meals for dinner, they made it to the table over a half hour period. It can't be that hard, can it?

The cabin and location were great. However I did arrive late and did not receive a code. I spent 20 minutes trying to call the after hours with no answer. Being late at night this was not good. being a public holiday i still should not need to wait. did eventually get through.
